Re: Wasting Aces...
You didn't waste your Aces.
You took down a pot of t140, 7xBB, to increase your stack 13%.
That's fine ... much better than losing your whole stack. Believe me, every day I see donks limping...

Re: Better learning experience???
OK, I'm a little lost.
You want to play the $1,500 WSOP circuit event to bust your cherry before playing "an event or two" in the Borgata Winter Open event?
And you're asking if you'd be...

Re: what would you do in this situation?
What did UTG do?
Assuming he folded I'd probably flat call t1,600 into the t3,800 pot, making the pot t5,800. Small enough to get away from if the flop is in-opportune and he pushes.
20% of the...

Re: Your Saw Flop%
Hmmm, I truly believe the percentage should change over the course of a MTT.
At the early levels when the stacks are deep or close to deep I force myself to see flop with a wide range of hands,...

Re: Playing the opponents hand and not yours.

Why in the world would you ever fold if he repushed?
[/ QUOTE ]
Ahem .... the same occurred to me in the subway going home from work (after posting the article).
Hey, if I was in...

Re: Playing the opponents hand and not yours.

I called a raise of 6k the other day with 89s thinking the guy had AK-AJ. I was on the button and had a 71k stack to do this. I hit TP with the 8 and pushed

Re: Sat bubble play. autocall with AK ?
Assuming there are two more tables the sizes of the short stacks on these are highly relevant. Meaning, if you are the third shortest stack overall and everybody else has like a million in chips,...

Re: Call an all-in on the turn w/ scary board?
Villian's range (based on your description of him):
AKd thru A2d, KQd thru KTd, QJd, QTd, JTd, AA-33, A7-A5
I don't have PokerStove at this PC, but I count 124 combos of which you're far ahead of...

Re: pushing in the orange zone (PP$150)

Since the ~3BB raise encourages middle and lower pairs to push, I don't like it.

For exactly the same reason I like it.
Very big difference between STTs and MTTs.

Re: Early in a MTT. how do i play this
You don't play the hand past the flop.
You're not getting the right price, especially because 4 of your "outs" gives you the idiot end of the str8, and might easily cost you your stack. You need...

Re: Bottom Set facing Lots of Resistance
MP1 has almost all of his stack in the pot. I wouldn't be surprised to see KQ a good part of the time, but even if you could pin him exclusively on JT you're getting amble odds to call. Easy hand.

Love the no ante.
[/ QUOTE ]Why? No Ante means vastly reduced profitability of stealing blinds. Half of my game is gone there. Why would anybody prefer no ante?

Re: Tropicana AC a dump?
Make sure to get a room in the West Tower. It's the one put up most recently before the Havana Tower, and is still in OK shape - I've always enjoyed staying there. The North tower rooms are horrible...

Re: AC daily tournaments feedback?
Played the Borgata Sunday Nite yesterday. Nice tournament.
Absolutely decent structure, t5,000 to start (freeze out), 25 min levels, starting at t25/t50.
$85 + $15 buy-in, 76 players, very...

Re: Bellagio $1,000 MTT
Congrats! Very nice job!
I played the $1,000 during the WSOP, and it was a tough line-up speckled with pros (I lasted 14 minutes until I donked my AK all-in PF against a late-comer who sat down...
