Re: ? for guys living in Vegas
I'm glad you posted this - we are coming to Vegas in Feb. for a conference which is at Mandalay Bay - but we love GVR and were thinking of staying there and driving to MB each morning (to get there...

Re: New to the forum
Hi Brad,
I usually play only live O8, so can't answer regarding internet sites. However I have found that reading the books is great but can only take you so far. Hours and hours of playing will...

Re: consistent losing
Bob,
How long have you been playing?
You want to make sure that not only are you playing quality starters, but that you're able to tell when you should fold those starters if the flop misses you....

Thanks, yvesaint -
I'm still figuring out betting strategy - so I looked too weak on the flop bet?

question of JJ hand
Hi all,
I was playing 1/2 NL live the other night and was dealt JJ in MP. I raised it to $10.00 and got about 4 callers. The flop was:
3d, 3s, 2d
Checked to me, I bet $15.00. The player two...

Re: I am a giant fish in the live Omaha game.
No I meant do you understand *when* a low is counterfeited, etc?
Hey we've all been noobs. I will admit here and now that the first time I ever sat down to a live Omaha O8 game I thought it was...

Re: What do you do?
I agree with Dazareth - I see people changing seats and tables around me all of the time, frantically because they think it will change their luck. They also call for set ups all of the time too. ...

Re: carnival games
Playing *any* game where the casino has *any* edge is -EV. Including BJ.
But like you said, if you have fun playing an -EV game and can afford to lose, enjoy!

Re: carnival games
Bob,
I know there isn't in reality - that's the sort of games they are. But it seems like usually you can sit there for a long time and do okay, and it's mindless and relaxing. It's when people...

Re: Craps
I'm curious about precision shooting. It seems as if you got really good at it that perhaps it could increase the odds of being able to roll longer.
It seems like it would take a lot of hours to...

How many here play Crazy 4 Poker?
Or 4 card poker?
I've done pretty well on them though you can have some big swings - the swings in the +EV direction make it fun.

"There is no better game against loose players than limit O8."
Yes, but when your opponents literally play every four cards they are dealt all the way to the river for the most part, you will also...

Re: B&M live poker : Duh?
Live poker is definitely slower and can therefore be boring if you're not getting good hands.
However I would not say your experience was "typical". The fact that you could sit down, make mistakes,...

incredibly loose live O8
The last few B&M's I've played in have featured players who are so unbelievably loose that it's almost hard to play against them. The answer, of course, is to play for the nuts and you'll beat them...

Buzz,
I did think of your strategy the other day when playing, and it automatically fell in line with what I would have played anyway (I was pleased to see).
