Sorry, can't wait any longer...gotta go play.
I pushed. He called and did indeed have KQs (hearts). Good call, rattler.
The unfortunate thing is that he hit runner runner hearts to bust me....

Re: KQ early, somebody flame me
Fold preflop.
The all-in reraise is tougher, but you've gotten yourself here so you might need to call this at this point and hope he's got JJ, QQ or something similar. The trouble is...the player...

Re: Overpair and OESD: What do you do?
Well, the following hands have you beat (assuming rainbow flop...you didn't say in your post)...
QJ (the only hand you're in real trouble against)
AA, KK, QQ (3-2 dog, except for qq, 3-1 dog)...

TPTK round 1
It's round 1 of a 25+2 Turbo SnG on Stars. I have $1500 and get AKo in MP. I raise to 80 (blinds are 10/20), the button (big stack after doubling up early) calls and we're heads up to the flop.

Re: Beating bad players
[ QUOTE ]
I know that if you're a good player, then you should be able to beat bad players. I just keep getting outdrawn. Does anybody have any on the best way to play against people who won't lay a...

Re: can i fold KK pre-flop ?
Good points, Mantis...my post was simply to present a possible rationale for folding. And I do think it's a close call between calling and folding, really.
One thing that tips in the favor of...

Re: can i fold KK pre-flop ?
Let me play devil's advocate here...
Against three underpairs (highly unlikely) you are about a 54% chance to win. If you are ahead in the hand, but are up against something like AKo, QQ, and JJ...

2) Stopped 8 tabling (I still feel that this is only a small factor, but a factor is a factor on a bad streak)
3) Stopped starting another table after I get knocked out. Instead I...

Re: AT UTG 3-handed even stacked
[ QUOTE ]
no, not a push hand (in my book). This a hand that you can play better by raising 3x bb and seeing what they do on the flop. Especially at this buyin. Keep this in mind, someone is a...

Shortstacked with a marginal hand
Hi all,
It's been a while since I've posted, but I though this hand was interesting with which to jump back into the posting fray, and wanted to hear opinions.
Pokerstars 25+2 Turbo SnG. Blinds...

Re: best site for sng\'s
Personally, I would avoid SnGs if you are just starting to play poker...if you've got B&M limit experience, then I'd play at PokerStars. The games aren't quite as soft as Party, but the blind...

Re: AJs, TPTK, he shoves
Any read? If he's a known nut, I want to take his chips, and I'd call. If not, I fold reluctantly. NLHE has been called a game of two pair or better, and you still have only one pair. He could have...

Re: Small set. Did I chicken out?
For your first question, small pairs have more value with many people in the pot, because you will be playing for trips or fold, and with many people in the pot, you are likely to have someone else...

Re: For MikeGuz old AQ thread
I'll typically limp with AQo early (occasionally fold...very rarely raise) at a full table, especially out of position. I look at it this way...feel free to flame.
If I limp for 15 chips or 20...

Re: 2 plays in 1-table SNG
Don't know...would depend on the player...I'm just saying that the pot-sized bet should be enough to make a lousy hand fold, without getting nabbed by trips. If he reraises, you have a decision to...

Re: ROI
ROI stands for return on investment...basically add up all your winnings, divide by all your buyins, and you get ROI. If your ROI stays at 99% you must be cheating /images/graemlins/cool.gif.

Re: 2 plays in 1-table SNG
No real issue with the KK hand, although you might not want to push in on the off chance he hit trips. A nice pot size bet should be enough.
On the second hand you should have smooth called one...
