Re: The 2+2 Hedge Fund

The reason your intuition finds it interesting is that it's true. If you took the entire universe of anything that operates like the stock market or the poker table (when some buys, others have to be...

Re: \"Battle of the Sexes\" tournament series on GSN

Read about this mini event on a blog.(I think it was "las vegas and poker") You may or may not be surprised to find out that one team dominates - I won't spoil such an important event.
The best tid...

Re: starting to like the smaller tourneys again....(80-100 people)

Couldn't agree with you more. My 2 priorities now are finding a tournament that won't take 7 hours to complete (i have 3 kids) and has a decent structure.

UBET raised their starting chips to 1500...

Re: Would you fold in this spot?

Thanks for the responses.

To add insult to injury, 5 hands later I woke up with AA and no one called. 3 hands after that I was all in to Chip Leader with AK vs A7 and he rivered a 7.

Cards...

Would you fold in this spot?

I am having a hard time coming to grips with the following play. Can't decide if it is a case of "no good play going unpunished" or taking final table strategy too seriously, and playing too tight.

Re: Relaxing with a good book over the Holiday???

Has only been mentioned once...."Biggest Game in Town" by Alvarez is now rereleased, and is easier to find. It's by far the best written story on Poker.

Warning 30-40% of "Positively 5th St." is...

Re: Do Pro Poker Players Make Good Clients For A Financial Advisor?

Vee- you are a client of mine. Not personally, but I call on Financial Planners in NY and PA. A couple of thoughts for this post.

Zaxx- I like your comments in most threads, and respect them even...

Re: Poker Player Calender

Mattias is a regular player from that site, and a contributor to their boards. I think he won a satellite entry, to the main event, through them as well.

Neither side will like this comparison,...

Your Favorite Tournament

First of all many thanks for all the info from the regular posters, your advice has been very helpful. I joined this site after getting tired of RGP.

Two Questions:
I'd like to know if there is a...

Re: Funny Poker Anecdote

Very nice.
I play 95% my poker on line, and like you, most of my play is after the kids are in bed. Apparently not all of it.

Last weekend I was fired up to play in a local NL tourny. At 7pm, I...

Re: The best Chad line ever

No doubt, N Chad was at his best. I generally like his humor, but he seemed to be a little less funny as the WSOP went on. This was easily his funniest episode.
As far as the overall tourny, I...

Re: Norman Chad is funny

Chad is an acquired sense of humor.

With Jesse, I can't stand him on TV, but his articles actually read pretty well.

Re: You flop the nut str8, then the turn pairs the board.

Your read on the player is important, but can be hard online. If villian is chip leader and has history or at least the bankroll of calling with low connectors then slow down. I look at 4/5 or 5/6 as...

Re: Party 30+3 Tonight

I find structure (and possibly players) at stars are top notch.. T1500 to start favors the better player. But speed of play - the flop, turn, etc, all seem to take longer. I am not commenting on the...
