Re: $11 1st hand AQ v minraise
Bet the pot on the flop. The purpose of poker is to force your opponents to make mistakes. By betting the pot, you either make them fold a draw and take a nice pot, or you force them to make the...

Re: A6s flops top two
I've seen people limp with AK, AQ, and so on, so there's no reason to take him off of those premium Ace hands.
Anyway, top two is a very, very strong hand. If he flopped a set so be it, you can...

Re: JJ ugh turn minraise
99 is possible and he flopped a set. A9 is possible. Would he really call a check-raise with A2? Would he have just called with a set rather than pushing with his set? If he over values top pair it's...

Re: why not limp all pairs utg?
Limping UTG has to do with pot odds preflop. With small pairs you want a lot of people in the pot to get good odds on the set, because small pairs have little hope of winning unless they flop a set....

Re: quads after PFR from SB, standard?
I'd check and let him catch up. Bet small on the turn (to look weak) hoping he caught something and is willing to raise, or at the very least it gives him a chance to bluff at the pot. If your...

Re: QQ early, raised, two limpers and a re-raise
- Raise 4xbb, not 6xbb. There's no limpers so there's no reason to create some huge pot.
- Call. With the money in the pot you're getting good pot odds to draw out on AA and KK, especially if the...

Re: AA no reads
I want to cry because this is a hard decision. Flush draw, straight draw, two pair, set, A9 for top pair with top kicker. Could also have TT, JJ, QQ, KK. *sigh*
I push. I've folded AA and KK each...

Re: AKs gets raised oop
- Raise 4xbb, not 12xbb. 12xbb is way too much.
- If you bet the standard raise, it would have given you room to reraise, which is something you'd want to do with one of the best starting hands in...

Re: Building pots
The trick is making the opponent think he has the best hand. To do this you at the very least need to check the flop. This way your opponent can catch up. I'd do something like this on a non-straight...

Any bet pot-commits you. I would push if you think he will call with some worst hands such as KQ, KJ, AT, a single /images/graemlins/spade.gif. Check/raise allin on the turn if he will...

Re: AQ vs. overbet - sigh
[ QUOTE ]
Most of the time the overbet is a trick. It makes you think why would he do this if hes ahead? but most of the time you are smoked.
This is probably a fold unless it is standard for...

Re: I need your help - AK, AQ
Hand 1: Continue betting 2/3rd the pot.
Hand 2: Ew. Fold more often than not.
Hand 3: Another ew. Call the raise, don't re-raise. Either lead or check the turn. Tough choice. If you lead, fold...

2. Should I raise from late/mid postion with multiple limpers? How hard?

Re: AQ vs. overbet - sigh
Plenty of fish play any two suited cards, so I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss a possible 4.
I'd fold. The way it's played he probably hit a set of 5s, giving him a boat. If he had a worse Q why...

Re: 25NL: QQ pf - tough decision
It says CO raises to $1 then SB calls $4? Is it supposed to be SB re-raises all-in to $4?
In any case, tough decision. In a full ring game I'm willing to go all-in preflop with AA, KK, and AK. In...

Re: QQ - turn
You have position, so you need to use it. He made a very weak raise on the flop, which is either a flush draw, second pair, or Ace with weak kicker. I'd re-raise $3 more to see if he's serious about...

AKo OOP nasty flop, turn makes it worse.
I think I made the right decision, but I just want to get the opinions of others. I'd like to know what you'd do on the turn in this situation. No reads on villain.
$0.10/$0.25 - No Limit Hold'em...
