Re: Missed a bet or Saved a bet?
Yes- I would raise 6th and 7th street every time here. I wouldn't be that worried about Seat 5's board.
Also, I would bet on 4th. If you have a hand good enough to call you should usually open the...

Re: Humorous hand of the day
[ QUOTE ]
What makes you think he's going to bet your hand for you on fifth?
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. He'd have to be pretty foolish to bet into an open pair of Qs on 5th. Unless he has a very...

Re: Humorous hand of the day
[ QUOTE ]
One thing I've noticed is that many people double bet open pairs when that is all they have (or maybe 2 small pair) in an attempt to appear strong and drive people out.
They will then...

Re: Humorous hand of the day
[ QUOTE ]
shouldn't 4 street be a fold? It seems certain he has AA and one of your Qs is dead.
Also, why did he check 5th?
[/ QUOTE ]
No way is 4th street a fold.
More to the point,...

Re: Sticky situation 7cardstudHi
Thanks for your views.
I think you are right - I should have folded on 3rd street. The fact that I folded to a single bet on 4th was probably an act of anger that I didn't make the fold on 3rd.

Sticky situation 7cardstudHi
I occasionally get into situations like this. When should I fold (if at all)?

Humorous hand of the day ctd
I liked RandomUser's theme of humorous hands. Here's one I was part of the other day. I've never seen this before. The chances of it happening must be pretty slim.
Tournament - 7 Card Stud High...

Cry me a river...
This hand is from the same s&G tourney as my earlier post (Worst Play of the Day). I got stuck and was relying on a river card.
The worrying thing is that I finished 6th out of 8 against these...

Re: One heck of an expensive sandwich
Unfortunate.
My advice is keep a large packet of peanuts within easy reach of your computer. That way you can avoid missing great hands like these when hunger strikes and you can also use them to...

Four card flushes
I'm never too sure about how to play 4 card flushes - specifically on 5th and 6th streets. Below is an example. Am I right to raise on 5th st?
Tournament - 7 Card Stud High (15/30), Ante 2,...

Yes I take your point.
I was just thinking that by raising in early position with 2 Qs out my opponents would almost certainly put me on a flush draw or a pocket pair...since I 'd be unlikely to be...

Why does poker...

Re: New buddies or poker geniuses?

Hell no. The pot is even bigger and it's again one small bet to him. So there's more of a reason for calling then when he called the first bet.
