pot odds question

If there's $10 currently in the pot and I have to call a $2 bet, what are my pot odds?

a. 5:1 (call $2 to win $10)
b. 6:1 (call $2 to win a total pot of $12)

I thought the answer was "a",...

Re: My Favorite Hand Ever!!!

You must be playing on PokerStars. Same thing happened to me a few months ago, only with KK vs. KK. I got all-in preflop and lost my buy-in. Thanks for posting. I feel better about it now. ...

Re: bet how much on river?

[ QUOTE ]
I think you will have a much better chance of getting a big call than a big raise. I bet at least full pot here.

Yes. Seems like he's calling you down with a weak Ace. I...

Re: Is this an easy call?

Absent of any reads, I still think you make this call. At this level, I've seen people make this play with AKo.

Re: Is this an easy call?

Easy call for me. I read that the odds against having AA vs KK preflop are 22559:1 (more odds here (http://www.learn-texas-holdem.com/texas-holdem-odds-probabilities.htm)). Seems to happen a lot...

Why move up?

I've been playing poker online for a little over a year now. I started at the penny stakes with a $100 bankroll. I've worked my way up to .50/1.00. My goal is to get to the 5/10 tables but after...

Re: Serious variance

I've thought about this too. On PokerStars, there are a lot fewer 5/10 games than .10/.25 games. Is this because people can't afford it or is the 5/10 game too difficult to break into? Maybe...

Re: Questionable push

I put you on TT. I'm leaning towards calling with AA but not with the flush draw, but I'm still at .50/$1.00.

. . .What really troubles me about variance is that it would take thousands of hands to know how profitable you truly are in terms of bb/100.

Re: Perhaps a Simple Question

My reasoning is off. I forgot that he's shortstacked (I'm still learning how to deal with these small stacks). I was just trying to find a reason for reraising. I like Gryph's line of calling (if...

Re: Flopped Quads

I like slowplaying the flop. Give him a chance to catch up. If a 9 falls on the turn or river, you're loving it. I think you got about as much money out of him as you could. You also gave him a...

Re: Correct to fold QQ with rag board?

When I see his flop bet, I'm wondering what hand would he be willing to risk his entire stack ($62.25) to win $16. If he's a sane player, he has to consider your preflop raise from the SB. So I...

Re: AA Top Set on Turn, can I get away?

Preflop is fine. Flop is fine (the other players are making bad calls if they're on flush straight draws). I think you have to call on the turn. The pot was laying you 2.5:1 and you are 3.7:1 to...

Re: AQs, river value bet?

I think you played it fine. The king on the river scares me. If you bet the river and he check-raises, you then have to decide if he has KK or AK in the hole. The pot is big enough. I'd hate to...

Re: Which poker fate? (low content)

I just like how sets are concealed. I think you're more likely to get action with a set than when your flush or straight completes.
