Re: simple question vs. unknowns
I'd call down against a 10/20 unknown.
Getting 7-1 with backdoors, and taking into account some implied odds (which are even more of a factor if you're going to fold UI), you have to peel at least.

Re: A9o utg
The difference between this and the archetypal WAWB situation is he will call you with quite a bit when you are WA. He'll definitely call you with any pair, he'll definitely call with a straight...

Re: A9o utg
I'd definitely bet the turn against this LP unknown. He'll call you with enough crap you have beat to more than compensate for the times you have to pay off trips.

Re: 10 10 against a TAG
What suits?
If the board is rainbow, I think he has a lower PP or a very aggressive semibluff rarely enough to allow you to fold, given what we know.

Re: JJ vs
Gotta bet - too many cards can hurt you to consider bluff induction. Checking and calling a non-J river would be a fairly big mistake. If you think he's tricky, also gotta call down a raise.

I'm not sure what the balance between 'doing the right thing' and 'not risking getting caught' is for most poker players when it comes to paying taxes. In this situation, one would have...

Re: What is PokerRoom 10/20 5-max like?
Indeed, look closely at the rake. Over the hands I played, pokerroom + rakeback was just about a wash versus party without. Reminded me of my old Italian/Jewish friend who'd joke that he'd steal...

Re: river screwplay
Like it. Villain doesn't even need a big AF (though obviously you want to do it more often against this type of guy); it's good against any non-pacifist. Making these plays at least once in a...

Re: River Raise?
I check through.
If he was pushing an aggressive semi, your bet has little value. If he has a monster, you're paying 2. I don't think the balance of his range is big enough even against this...

Re: Bad line with flopped trips?
Preflop is very frisky - I'd just lay it down.
With a 3flush on board, I don't like the turn check/call at all. (I'm not crazy about sandbagging on the flop, either.)

Re: Oh heeeeeeeeeeeeellllllll no
Given 4 outs to a split + the chance of him having a J or a fd (non-negligible), I don't think this is a good spot to lure him in for 1 extra BB. Plus, he may well call down with a lot of hands you...

Re: Oh heeeeeeeeeeeeellllllll no
It seems to me that whether or not you are calling a 3bet is crucial in evaluating your decision to only call the turn raise.
Either way, I prefer 3betting the turn to raising the river, but just...

Agree - river 3bet is too much. Raise could be a <*insert slang for really stupidly played*> flush, but against an unknown dummy, it's <10% of the time (even against a [censored] known to do this...
