Stud8: More idiocy on 3rd
10/20 on Pary. I bring it in with Ac 2s 3s. Two fours and two spades are dead. Folded to an ace, who completes, a six raises, folded to me, I fold.

just right?

I think so.
His play on sixth is super confusing, though. Perhaps he's made two pair and put you on air since you were the bring-in.

Re: River disaster
I was seat 2 here and folded (56), no hearts. I called rather than raised on 3rd in the hope that Jon would come along.
My thinking was that given the action on 3rd, trips were possible and with...

Play to get the big stack. It is sooo hard to survive in limit poker when you limit yourself to "preimum" hands. Play some crap, its fun

Tourney Trash Talk and Bad Beats
I'll get us started:
No doubt you've all watched with awe the Cinderella story that is my performance thus far. Down below 200 chips, our hero steals and lucks his way back to... the same stack he...

Re: 2+2 Tourney
After Christmas is good. I'd play a Stud8 tourney at any of these limits, but probably not a stud high.

Bet only when you have a good hand. (I.e. Do not bluff or semibluff unless in unusual circumstances.)

Re: Aces up on a scary board (Stud 8/b)
Ugh, this whole hand gives me shivers, but I don't know where you can escape.
I bet fourth hoping Seat 1 will raise get it HU.
I check sixth, and maybe fifth.

Re: I couldn\'t believe what he showed down.
I stick to 8/b, but his call seems sensible. 4 players in, totally live 7s and Js (as far as he can see). He has great implied odds in this and little chance of being raised.
In a multiway pot...

Oh yeah, good point. This is a good hand to steal antes with. (If you're reading this and playing below 3/6, ignore this post.)

Re: 7/8b hand 2
Fold third. You have a terrible low draw and your aces may be dead.
Bet fourth, hoping to knock out Seat 3.
Rest seems ok, but less belivable because you didn't bet fourth. In general, bluffs...

Re: Stud 8 - Day 2, Hand 2
Your call on fifth may be a too thin: two 4s and a 9 are dead, and the pot is small. Run some calculations on twodimes.net to figure out if calling is right.
Otherwise, just fine.

Re: Stud8 - Day 2, Hand 4
Jamming 3rd is fine, calling is fine (in games this low, I suspect a raise is better).
Fold fifth. I don't think it's close. You started great, but you're now getting 4-1 and even if you make...

99 Preflop
6-handed 10/20, good game. Hero is button w/ 99. Call, call, fold, hero raises (?).
I know raising is good: I'm ahead of limpers' ranges, I might knock out the blinds, I have position, etc....
