Re: Curtains hand #6 - ITM with TPNK
even with SB completing PR regularly, i don't think our hero can necessarily sense a trap in this particular hand. sure SB could be getting frustrated and thinking of trapping. but he could've been...

hi jim,
thanks for taking the time to put together a convincing email. too bad all they did was send you a form letter. i'm sure you expected as much, but it was worth a try. apparently, either...

Re: 55: Big Stacks Duel on the Bubble
the way it was played out, i would fold on the turn. on the flop, since there are no draws, c/r to around 450 should give you the same info.
other option, reraise PR to 800-1000 and go from there...

Re: Bet how much on flop?
i'll usually bet 150 again, then check the turn if called. if he checks again on the river, then prolly push. i think there still is "plenty" of play left, even with 425 left (after you post the...

Re: Have I taken this folding thing too far?

Um, this is a bad fold. Villain has a worse J here a very large % of the time.
Think about this, if he had a monster on this RAGGGGY board, why would he lead? I would be much more happy...

playing at a higher buyin level and more tables
i realize going from the 30s to the 50s and 8 tabling vs. 4/6 tabling will both decrease your ROI). i have a pretty decent ROI in the 30s (around 17% in the last 1100 games), but it seems to dip...

Re: 109: Bubble call from SB
i re-push also, mainly because of my hand strength (i see lots of pushes with Ax, 2 big cards, ...). but i'm not too sure about the real money benefit/risk.

Re: And on a more positive note...
over 18% ROI at the 30s (last 1077 games).
not too bad for a rookie with occasional fish-like tendancies. barely a winner at the 50s though. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Do most people push the turn if the checkraise gets called? If you do, then I'm more weak-tight than i had previously thought.

definitely, if it was heads up. with 2...

Re: Playing from the blinds: KJ
i would raise it to 150-175. having said that, i prefer betting out the standard amount (90ish?) to see how everyone reacts. might be cheaper that way to get away from it...

Re: 175 is the new black

I don't know really - just adjusting. At the $109s it seems it is a standard raise at t50 level. I never see anyone raise to t125, and seeing t150 is also pretty rare.

Re: raise sizes in SNG\'s
with 800, i'll usually bet 150-175 and then again on the flop against 1 or 2 others. with say 550, i used to push with say 10s but lately, i've been raising the standard amount PF and then pushing...

You're not planning to get the chips in on a J-high or 8-high board with J8s. You're planning to make a straight or a flush or two pair and stack AJ type of hands.
