Re: Aces Hand
I didn't even notice you were playing SH... villian could easly have Qx, TT, a pair + draw... all sorts of hands.

Re: Aces Hand
I play it the same.
I don't know why you think villian has a set on the flop as opposed to a flush draw or AQ though...

Re: First 10k hands after SSHE
Your sample size is so small that your win rate is basically meaningless however...
Raise more preflop.
Play more hands.
Defend your blinds.
Steal blinds.

Re: Cap pre-flop, Fold Flop
I wonder if the hand example on p. 274 of SSH applies here.
Obviously there are some differences. The board here has straight potential... but then in the SSH example there is the additional...

Re: I think I played this wrong. Comments please
Preflop: Good
Flop: Call. A raise will not protect your hand. You are giving your opponents 16:2 odds on a call and therefore it would be correct for them to call with a 7 or 2. See SSH p. 163-5...

For those of you who say raise...
I understand your reasonings behind raising and I don't need you to repeat them. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
SSH says that we should be limping KTs in MP in a tight game (note that everything on...

Quiz from Phil Gordon\'s website
I would have bet the flop but that wasn't an option. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Anyhow, I don't fold here... am I wrong?

Re: Stealing the blinds with QQ
I always cap preflop QQ-88 in these situations but only sometimes with AA/KK.
I think the postflop play is fine. If he has a K you certainly don't want to raise as he isn't folding and you don't...

Re: SSHE starting hands question
The issue in this case would be your position... I don't think anybody on here would argue against raising ATs from LP or MP.
Also the chart in SSH for tight games says to limp ATs in EP.

Re: SSHE starting hands question
A lot of(most?) 2+2ers will tell you to raise in a 'tight' game with a few hands in EP that SSH says not to (I'm thinking mainly AJo, ATs, KQs, 99). I have asked a couple times about why the...

$11 Stars: AKo meets push early
First round so no reads. 10/20 blinds. Me and villian both have 1500 stacks.
I raise UTG with AKo to 75. Villian in MP goes all in. Is this normally a call or a fold.

Re: Q/Q in BB and it comes to me CAPPED!
Yes this is a 'wait for the turn' hand unless you are trying to get your opponents to fold backdoor flush/straight draws. Look at the odds you are giving your opponnets with your flop raise.

Re: Book Suggestions
SSH is a great book but I don't think it will help you too much.
I suggest Pot Limit & No Limit Poker by Bob Ciaffone and Stewart Reuben.
