Re: table talk
I think that being an ass to tilt people can be effective in a tournament (although I don't think it is worth doing. I much prefer to watch Daniel than Helmuth or the Mouth), but in the cash games...

Re: AK vs. a spazzy, random player
I think I just check it down here. It is likely you are ahead, but I don't want to lay 2-to-1 odds on it. You can't fold to a raise. I suspect his two likely hands are a Jack and a pair and two...

Re: Why is this so wrong?
You're not ridiculously off-base, except for the "fold if you do not improve by 5th". This will get you killed if you are in anything approaching a reasonable game.

Re: Stream and Sara in pot building frenzy
I'm going to go with Sara having pocket Aces that rivered Aces-full /images/graemlins/grin.gif
It may not be real likely, but I'll look like a genius if I happen to be right.

Re: Blind defense.
I think if you continue with this logic you check-fold the flop. You saw the flop and it missed you. It may not have hit your opponent, but it very well could have. Most people will steal with any...

Re: Now or later?
I tend to raise this now. I think there are more hands that give you action on the flop than the turn. I tend to play flush draws fast on the flop as well. This allows me to jam the flop and get...

If the only mistake you are making is neglecting the possibility of quads, I think you're playing mighty fine poker /images/graemlins/smile.gif
You're going to be up against smaller full houses...

Re: I Expect To Be Flamed For This
I don't have a major problem with hand. I would probably fold 5th. I would expect seat 5 to have you beat much of the time.
I don't think 3rd is all that bad (unless the Ace raises). Your...

Re: TPTK facing a turn C/R?
I think I just call this one down. He's not all that aggressive (.75), and he's representing a big hand. He three-bet your UTG raise from the SB. If he's not getting out of line, I would expect a...

Re: Raising with a 3 flush
Yes and Yes.
Your hand has both flush potential and high card strength. You should raise and not care a whole lot who folds or calls. It's going to be hard to be in a bad situation given you...

Re: results
I think the flop is worth a little more than a check-call here. Does anyone lead or check-raise the flop. The pot is pretty sizable. It might be worth getting head's up with the likely over-pair...

Re: live 10/20 hand, pocket kings, 3 Aces on flop
This is spewing. He plays straightforwardly and he's re-raised a pre-flop 3-bettor on a board of AAA. I would put his hand range at JJ,QQ,KK,A+. He has an Ace WAY more than 2% of the time after...

Re: How to protect this QQ hand?
You may also be raising trip Ts on the turn. You don't want 3 bets going in on the turn. Bet the flop. Bet the turn.
Hearts are going to call no matter what. Don't give a single heart or...

Re: River play : Did I miss a value bet?
With the King as the board kicker, I think checking this is reasonable. You aren't going to get another Ace to fold. About the only possible hand to pay you off is a King, which doesn't seem very...

Re: really weird AJ hand 3/6
The big difference between raising this UTG and raising in the SB is that the UTG raise may thin the field. The SB raise is almost surely going to be called for all the limpers.
So you can raise...

Re: PS 2/4: AJs
I think people are making huge assumption that the hero's opponent knows what he is doing. The hero is 8 tabling, so has pretty much no read. This could be a maniac that caps every hand he raises...

Re: Basic Theoretical Question
Why should your opponent bet knowing that you can't call? The correct move is to check to induce a bluff from the draw. The draw plays correctly by not bluffing when he is going to get called 100%...

My memory is that it wasn't the door card, but that the pair matched one of my upcards, so my hand was kinda dead.

Re: A semi-interesting hand
On 3rd, it's $2 to call in an $18 pot. I have a buried pair that will win a big pot if I hit trips. If I spike two pair I'm in a decent position.
4th may be viable time to fold. It didn't...
