Re: 30/60 Stud hi hand
Haven't read any replies, haven't played any stud lately really /images/graemlins/wink.gif.
3rd is ok though folding would be fine in a lot of situations. If you thought the bring in was likely...

Re: Want to help plug my expensive leak?
Good call bob. Even though it doesn't look like you make money by betting, it is much better than check calling. Especially since people will often not raise the river when they make two pair.

Re: Want to help plug my expensive leak?
Chances are you are worrying about the wrong thing here. A LOT of the time you should pay off. However, it's easy to be sure enough that you are beat to fold when you are getting odds like "6, 7 or...

Re: Stud-High Flush Draw Question
Beer sorta said this, but to make it more clear: a lot of the time, especially at very low limits, people play enough hands that you shouldn't automatically fear trips. And since even when they do...

Re: rolled up
I think reraising here is giving your hand away too much. Actually that's not exactly right. It would represent SOME strong hand. If you had reason to think your opponents woudl play on despite...

Re: stud high
Although I would raise 3rd, I do like the call 3rd, bet 4th, checkraise 5th line sometimes.

Re: Straight & Flush draws heads-up
Definitely raise 5th. You are very likely slightly ahead in equity at this point, and it gives you more options later: you might be able to steal if you make an open pair or hit a 6, or you take the...

He actually checked behind on the river, I lied. But it illustrates what I thought was interesting about the river, which is that while some people will fire another bluff, in general they will also...

20/40 high: Marginal
This was from a good game the other day, lots of loosies. Raising 3rd is obviously an option, thoughts? 5th raise clear? If he bets 7th do you call? What if you don't catch that 3?

Re: $20/$40 high: routine fold
I wouldn't characterize getting called more as particularly a good thing in stud, though it is pretty close with low antes like these (it is possible to play in these games in such a way that you do...

Re: $20/$40 high: routine fold
We're pretty much on the same page, except if you fold 4th most players will just think you didn't have much when you raised 3rd.

Re: $20/$40 high: routine fold
Nope, he didn't show his hand.
You might be right about folding 4th, even though I think you are underestimating the odds that he is messing around.

He had 77 down to start. Surprised he didn't put in a raise on 6th with his trips, but of course he bet after I checked, and luckily he didn't fill.

Re: $20/$40 high: routine fold
Obviously this thinking is part of why I asked about this hand, but do you think it is proper to completely discount (A7)7 or (K7)7 or a 3 flush? Or even just someone being silly? I had no read on...

20/40 high: Couple of debatable plays
The bet on 5th can't be awful, but is it best? River FPS or just extracting value (I don't do this often)?
Also, if 4th were bet by someone, I think this is one of the few 3-flushes that I fold...

$20/$40 high: routine fold
Seems routine, though I'm surprised sometimes by plays like this that turn out to be something silly like a 3-flush /images/graemlins/wink.gif. Anyone find a fold earlier?
