Re: AK Help
Very nice post Emil. How would you handle the type of opponent who almost always calls your continuation bet? Do you still check, and hope he will bluff?

check/call? Maybe, but you are giving up a lot of value to donk calling you down with a weaker king, which happens quite often at this level. I think as...

Re: PP $200 - River play with boat
I think the reverse is even more true, the villain would have to be pretty bad to play a bluff here. I personally would check behind with a weak Ace here (any ace that isn't a fullhouse or AK), but...

No I agree with you, but I don't fold I raise and go broke and cuss the poker gods if I am beat. I do however think cold calling is better than folding. The case for cold calling is that you have...

Re: 97o from SB NL200
Jim, wouldn't you at least call here. Even if UTG isn't willing to go broke with A9 (unless you mean by going broke calling the BB bet), doesn't mean he doesn't have it. Maybe he folds to...

Re: 97o from SB NL200
This would be a pretty bad call by the villain if he is on a draw. He could easily have something like A9 or any pocket pair 10's or lower. I think your play is decent, if he as a set you are going...

Hand 2: Don't mess around with bottom 2, it is too easy to counterfiet. Flop bet 2/3 pot to pot. Turn do the same. River fold was the right play, the key is to take it down before the river (or...

Completely agree with Xorbie here. You check behind to manage the pot so you can call a reasonable river bet if you miss the river.
If you bet, most likely he calls if he is beating you and...

I thought about this. The reason I didn't value bet the river was that was concerned one of them was calling me down with a smaller flush. I thought it was unlikely the 10 was out there considering...
