Re: Why are poker players (and in particular these forums) so hostile?

Re: Pot odds after a raise

Ok, here is my first answer to another post, so if I am talking rubbish, you know what to do...

Whats the Villain got?

Lets look at it one step at a time.

pre-flop, he made a delayed raise,...

Re: Pair of Sevens in a larg(ish) Pot

I understand what your talking about.

This was just a question in my mind about what constitutes a
"Large" pot and what constitutes an allowable loose call.

Obviously not in this case.

Re: Pair of Sevens in a larg(ish) Pot

So I guess this hand goes into the category of...

Weak made hand in a small pot with too many ways to lose

Well, The truth hurts but self deception is worse.

Thanks very much,

Re: What hands would you fold here?

If I'm the villan I would only raise with AK or AKs.
I put you on at least AKs, because you re-raised me.

Now, I have overcards on the flop and the pot is small
(3BB). I would have folded...

Re: AK suited, but it all goes wrong

Actually, I think for an extra bet I could have had a show down only by checking and calling the turn and the river.

Perhaps playing defense would have been better, and he might have checked at...

Re: A flush play.

ooer, perhaps I've miscalculated.

By the flop we have 6BB in the pot.

By the end of the flop, each player has bet 1.5 big bets each.

i.e. just...

AK suited, but it all goes wrong

Here is a hand that vexed me mightily.
I had a good starting hand, but it went wrong from the beginning.

I agree.

when I'm tired or not concentrating properly, I will read a Two plus Two book for about 5 minutes and then realize that I haven't actually absorbed a single word.
