Re: Pure Heads Up Poker-The Sweet Science
I'll ignore everything else you wrote about, you know, poker and focus on your first sentence. "Parlay"? "Freeroll"? That smells of a gambling problem in the making. That isn't a good way to think...

Re: Posting some of my own hands tonight:
That's not really true. You go from a 50/30/20/0 bubble to a 30/10/0 bubble, and the sort of "thank god I'm ITM calls" mentioned earlier are very bad ideas.
I'll go with fold on the curtains...

Re: $11 A9 UTG L6
You are contradicting yourself there. He's shortstacked compared to the blinds(thus they will be looser) but not the other players(thus he can fold).
They won't be that loose as he will take at...

Re: $11 A9 UTG L6
What ranges are you putting people on for this to be -$EV? Folding seems terrible.

Re: $11 A9 UTG L6
It was a horrible push, even a crappy pattern mapper can see Seat 8 gets dealt JJ or QQ there.
You have an unhorrible hand, are first to act, it's 5 handed, and you have 6.5 BB.

Re: New Year\'s Resolutions
Dude, a car is the sickest moneysink you'll ever buy. I could live on like $600 a month if I didn't have my car. I'd Jukel the $11s Mon-Wed, play Dragon Quest the rest of the week, make my girlfriend...

Re: $22: Push or wait with an uber short stack
There is little utility in going from 100 to 150 chips when the BB is 100. You will not be able to get anyone to fold. Getting up to ~400 chips at least makes it a decision.
Specific example:
200...

Re: $22: Push or wait with an uber short stack
The other guy made a long post that might have even had scary maths in it, but here's my attempt:
FE does not have a linear relationship with stack size. Acquiring chips without showdowns is vital...

Re: $22: Push or wait with an uber short stack
I think you're forgetting how often some idiot openlimps at the 22s. You get 3 more hands but only 1 that you can be sure to be first to act. You can wait and race with an average hand in the BB, but...

Re: $22: UTG confusion
I like calling or minraising over pushing. Those big stacks are probably not as tight as you think, and either of them calling with 55 is a disaster. Also, no fing way either of them folds AQ.

Re: Doubting my skills (LC)
"I have played 950 $10 sngs...41% ITM 6% roi, HORRIBLE!"
This is like the third post in the past few days where a winning player says something like this. WTF? That's not horrible. -9% ROI is...

The determining...

Re: (LC) How many SNGs do you guys play a month?
That's pretty well missing my entire point to key on an aside. Nice work. It would be difficult but not impossible to make $5000 in one month playing only $11s. After 2200 SNGs in 30 days you'd...

Re: (LC) How many SNGs do you guys play a month?
It's not a matter of whether it's something to "write home about", it's whether you could make a living off it. As many, many Americans make a living on less than $36k a year, it's clearly possible. ...

Re: (LC) How many SNGs do you guys play a month?
Even if you're really sure you can beat the $22s and have the BR for it, what's the harm of playing a couple of hundred $11s? Work on your multi-tabling skills if not poker. If after 150 $11s you're...

Re: weak tight AKs line (22)
1. Raising means fewer people to play against. I'd much rather be OOP 3-handed in a t150 pot than OOP with a trillion people behind me in a t100 pot.
2. Getting worse hands to fold on the flop is...

Re: weak tight AKs line (22)
1. Don't limp preflop. Being UTG makes limping worse, not better.
2. I guess you can call, but he's betting 15 into a 105 pot. Consider raising. Your overcard outs are quite dirty.
3. Raise is...
