Re: River decision time
Woops. You're right. Sorry about that. I forgot which limit I was playing at today.
Perhaps a kindly mod would move this for me?

River decision time
Villain is moderately loose (29 VPIP over about 30 hands), but hasn't done anything completely out of line yet.

Re: agree with this Card Player advice?
I'll 3-bet this without even blinking. Combination of a straight up value bet with what's very likely the best hand and protecting that hand against redraws from the MP player.

Re: HU against a \"PT\'er\"
It's possible I could find a fold on the flop as my overcard outs are likely very dirty, but I don't mind the call. Once that turn card hits, the hand plays itself.

Re: Playing Pocket 7\'s from middle position
That's about as good a flop as you're likely to see for your hand. I'm going to war with that hand unless things radically change on the turn or river. If I lose set over set, well, that's going to...

2 Jacks
Have to discount pretty heavilly as pretty much none of those outs are really very clean.
I'd put it at under two outs.

Re: JTo in LP
I raise this pre-flop pretty much never.
Given that you raised, however, I like the way you played the rest of the hand.
That flop hit a reasonable portion of your raising hand range, so...

Re: I get criticized for this play - you decide
Pre-flop is table dependent. I'd probably open-raise before I'd open limp with it, I don't absolutely hate the limp.
Flop is nicely done. You definitely have him guessing a bit here as shown by...

Re: 4/8 live, overplayed 88 in a heads-up battle?
Good feedback. It absolutely felt right at the time, but thinking about the hand afterwards, I had a hard time deciding whether the raise was a solid semi-bluff or spew.
And honestly, I know I...

No reason to get fancy. He's shown zero aggression so far. What makes you believe you'll induce a bluff more often than he'll call a bet?
Just bet.

4/8 live, overplayed 88 in a heads-up battle?
4/8 live. Table is tightish with a couple laggy fish immediately to my right making the table worth staying at. I'm in MP w/ 88.
BB is the tightest player at the table. I haven't seen him get out...

To the best of my understanding, state law is that the max bet is $150 (thus the spread limit 5-150 at CA).
