Re: NL opposed to Limit

In order to build your bankroll, you're gonna need an ample bankroll to start off with to survive all the bad beats and such. Something like a 100 bucks for 25nl should be good enough if you play...

Re: Flopped Boat

About your play on the river, if you think he has AK, then it's still better to raise because you're actually getting a much better EV. He's most likely going to call with any ace in his hand and...

Re: Making $150/day playing poker

If you're just a "student" of the game, you should probably invest in certain books such as the poker theory one by sklansky and really understand which hands are profitable in certain scenarios and...

Re: Betting draws (theory-ish)

Definitely a good play. Works better when you're in good position and able to see what everyone does first. If everyone checks, definitely the perfect time for semi bluffing.

Re: B&M Pocket Aces Hand -- Bad beat or not?

What the hell was he doin in there with J7 in the first place. probably should've pushed more preflop instead of just to 20. Overall you were unlucky.

Re: Just when I think I am making strides in my game...

Only once in my lifetime was I able make that fold. Pretty hard to get away from that especially if your opponent decides to slowplay it.

Re: Picking off a delayed bluff.

so are you saying it was a bluff? If it was, nice call. Most of the time people pull those moves though are when they're slowplaying something.

Re: Party Skins - every time I cash out I start losing - am I paranoid?

I've had the same problem but doubt it's rigged. Always been meaning to try this method: cashout a lot more than what I was planning to, and then the next day, cash back in the excess amount of the...

Re: Monster draw, 3 way pot

As you said, CO was a loose player and with those cards on the board, you have to assume you're beat obviously. On the flop, your straight flush has great odds. CO being a loose player, you...

Re: Flush draw (with pair) vs TP better Kicker?

If he's willing to call with anything, then you played it fine seeing that if you caught your flush you could have made it pay off with a decent bet or raise on the river. Folding top pair is tough...

Re: This always happens when i try to take a stab at higher limits...

CO couldn't have played that hand any worse. pocket aces aren't the type of hand where you want many players and this guy just calls your reraise, had he played it right and reraised again preflop,...

Re: Another AA dilemma

With your first pocket Aces scenario, I don't think you played it wrong at all, with the way he was betting, you put him on the King with a decent kicker which seems logical. With hands like that,...

Re: Really tough hand

Tough to tell with no history on the guy but the only hand that makes sense to me would be A9. A flopped set of 2's would be possible but most people would raise because of the flush possibility. ...

Re: 2-pair on 1 suited flop

Definitely have to make a pot sized bet. It's not likely someone flopped the flush but you can certainly expect these kinda of loose players to call large sized bets with the flush draw and pay you...
