Re: Stud/8 tournament, 2 pair ,no low
If the table were tight, especially the guy with the Ace, I would raise on third street as a steal. As it is, third is a muck. Everything else looks fine.

Re: Poker Essays, Mason
The $3/6 game on Party has a "real stud" structure. So do my local low-limit stud games. Many $1/2 stud games have a $.25 ante, which is high.
Once a few bets go into the pot, knocking out...

Re: 2/4 Stud HI hand.
Either you were doing really well in this game or you subscribe to the same buy-in theory as Carlos.
I don't think the third-street call is awful, but as others have pointed out, folding is...

Re: Stud 8 and questionable 6th street call?
Failing to three-bet on fourth approaches crime-against-humanity territory. Fifth is worth a raise as well. On sixth, you do have enough hand to take all that pressure. There is a certain amount...

Re: $5/$10 Stud Hi - Rolled
I would probably just call on fourth and then pop it on fifth, but it doesn't make that much difference. Nice hand.
Nice that you can remember a hand that I played and I can't.

you don't think the other players will get suspicious after you call two bets coming back on 4th with 9 and 2 upcards?

Re: Quick Vegas Trip Report
Say hi to snakehead for us.
Brett hasn't posted in the stud forum in about a year. I wonder if he'd make Emery's top five.

Re: RESULT
This wasn't three to a flush on fifth. It was four to a flush on fourth. If you bet open Aces with a four-flush and someone raises, do you fold?

Re: Hand from Stud-8 tourney.
Mmmmmm. Jelly beans.
Your third-street hand is crap. It is true that I tend to throw my weight around at these things, but I do need a little something to raise here, especially this early in...

Re: TAG shifting gears at the wrong time
Seems to me that a while back, someone posted about an expert player who made a similar play with (A2)2. There were important differences. First, there weren't the two callers in between the two...

I don't think there is enough traffic to warrant a split. There is a separate forum where the moderators discuss things like the splitting of forums. I'm pretty sure that the forums won't get split...

Re: Stud/8 overplayed hand
Third and fourth are fine. I like the raise on fifth. It should get the potential low out, and it's fairly likely that the bettor has only the Tens.
This is easy for me to say from the comfort...
