Re: Turn Play...
Thanks for the insight, guys. My thought process on the flop was that it was a fairly dry board: no flush draws, and just a couple of gutshots. I was first to act and checked, so I figured if...

Turn Play...
First, let me say that I'm still new to PLO. I enjoy the game, and I'm getting better, but I recognize that I still have a long way to go.
Usually, I'll play the .25/.50 tables, but they were...

Re: 10/20 Q9s
Would UTG bet out this turn if he just picked up a flush draw? If he would, I like the raise because you likely have him beat; if you don't, you have plenty of outs. Also, the turn raise may get...

Re: Here\'s a Hand
Given that the limper and BB are loose, would there be any merit in just calling PF with the intention of C/Ring a favorable flop?

Re: TT and a turn auto-bet
I like betting the turn when I can easily fold to a raise. Also, betting this turn may get MP1 to fold JJ (unlikely given your description, but possible) or something like KQ. The pot is big enough...

Re: J8s BB
I don't like your flop line. If you think you may have the button beat, or can get him to lay down a better hand, then C/R the flop; otherwise, I'd fold. You still have people to act behind you -...

Re: A-rag in a tough spot
To be honest, I think I'd be more inclined to just c/f the turn. I suspect you're ahead here so very rarely that the bet/fold is just a waste of a BB.

Re: Tilt? AKo
I think the flop raise is fine, but the turn raise isn't so good. I like the flop raise because it's possible you still have the best hand; if you don't, you're likely to get a free card to draw to...

Re: AK vs. TAG
When I first saw the hand, my first thought was "bet the turn;" however, given the flop action, I like the turn check. Once he checks the river to you, it's an easy value bet.

Re: almost in the 300bb club
NLSoldier,
Could you give a rough estimate of which blocks of hands were played at which limit? Do you attribute the massive downswing to poor play? Running bad? Not being a winner at the limit...

Re: two mid pairs vs LAGs
I personally don't like the turn bet after check-calling the flop in the first hand. That's such a crappy board that I think an aggressive player will have no qualms about raising you there with a...

Re: 10/20 Q9o preflop
Given the nature of the blinds, I'd rather raise here, but I don't think limping is bad. It's definitely a hand I want to play against someone like the limper, but for whatever reason, I don't like...

Re: Tough spot 5/10 JJ
I'd bet/fold the turn. I'm quite willing to concede the fact that we're likely behind here, but I think the size of the pot warrants one more bet. Given the amount of strength you've shown -...

Re: 3/6 TT am i a fish?
I think calling the flop is fine:
A) The available flush draw is /images/graemlins/club.gif and you hold the T/images/graemlins/club.gif. While your flush draw is dubious at best, it does mean...

The monkey folded on the turn.

what if we get reraised on the flop? what would be a good line here? call down?

Yes, call down. The board isn't all that scary, thus making it quite possible someone...

Re: Sketchy
Getting 14:1, peeling the flop with a gutshot and overcards and closing the action is fine. Granted, the K/Q outs are negligble given the read on the 3-bettor, but they have some value.
On the...

Re: Yes, no or maybe so?
Eh. The monkey definitely looks to have been on the flush draw. But, I'm still betting and I'll call one raise. But, if it goes: bet/raise/raise, then I think it'd be safe to fold.

Re: Right line with JJ?
Raising the flop isn't likely to tell you much of anything. Unless the guy is incredibly straightforward, he's just as likely to smooth-call with a better hand and either stop-n-go the turn, or c/r...

Re: Why pot-limit?
I've been playing a little NL Omaha as of late. The game is.... interesting, to say the least. I don't know that I'll make it a regular part of my rotation, because I really just don't have...
