Yes, but there's so many of them it would make the analysis way too complicated. I tried to cover the major bases, and using...

Re: FTOP vs SnG: example.
I did some calculations a while ago. If you're a pretty big winner at whatever limit (>17% ROI), you shouldn't do this. Less than that, it's either around breakeven even or +EV for you to take this....

Re: FTOP vs SnG: example.

by FTOP we would be incorrect to fold TT to an open push if we saw their AK, even if all we are getting is 1:1 + blinds. i think the generally accepted rule is to pass on a coin flip...

Re: Chapter 4 and Levels 1-3
[ QUOTE ]
When I played the 800 chip tourneys I was uber tight early. In the 1000's i'm a bit looser early on. Well if I am interpreting chapter 4 properly, sklansky is saying that this is not wise....

Re: Scuba_Curtains: AK hand 2
Also, I forgot to mention, I don't even think adding AQ will do much good here in real play, though it probably makes playing this closer to break even with better assumptions.

Re: Scuba_Curtains: AK hand 2
[ QUOTE ]
Ok, so let's say the EP raiser is precisely this tight. He raises 4BB in level 2 to 120 chips. Folded to you, 165 in the pot and it's 105 more to go.
There are 12 ways for him to hold...

Re: Moses (Custer) hand #2: Folding TPTK

I am puzzled. What did he put him on? TT or 99?

Never played a $215, but I'd say his range is obvious and narrow for the majority of players. Just sit and think of what...

Re: Calling raises early on with PP to hit sets?

I agree that many players tend to overrate the profitability of small pairs. Perhaps it has something to do with how we learned to play them in limit cashgames.

Using the assumption that you will never win a hand except for when you get a set will give you somewhat unrealistic results, especially when there are only two in the hand.

Let me just quickly put this into further perspective by how many additional chips you MUST win on average after you hit your set:
