Re: Playing AK from Early Position
I did many more TTH simulations and I'm starting to think that limping with AKs from UTG is superior to raising while raising with AKo is superior.

Just for your information, there's a pretty good discussion of a few situations similar to this in HPFAP starting on page 139. Not exact, but well worth reading/re-reading.
The hand still isn't...

Hand 2 - just complete preflop. A raise forces the BB out pretty much never so all you do is tie the three of you to the pot postflop. Your hand is pretty good but you have the worst...

Re: confused with QQ
I think you may be looking at either 2 other overpairs or an overpair and a nut flush draw. Neither player looks quite loose enough pre-flop to play A3s, A6s, 66, or 33 pre flop against a raise.

Re: AKo vs. a limper-reraiser
I'm going to have to think about this hand some more, but I think it is WAY more likely to see a limp re-raise with AA than it is with KK or AKs even though I have seen it with those other hands...

By the way, in the actual hand UTG had 45 /images/graemlins/spade.gif and completed the STR8 draw on the river to win the hand. MP1 had a pair of 99s.

Yes and no.
I was afraid of the turn card, but I still didn't know if I was ahead or behind. For all I knew UTG was drawing to an inside STR8 (AXs) but...

I understand the thinking on the turn, but assuming there is any chance I am ahead, when I check the turn I am inviting a weaker pair to bet the river. Maybe that's not as applicable in this case....

This is tough without reads, but MP1 could be betting a draw or a smaller pocket pair. I agree that you should raise or fold, and raising is reasonable on the flop. Folding is ok too...

That's my feeling too. He did have success at 2-4 and 3-6 that way, but he did play some of those hands in blind stealing situations.
Now he's playing 5-10. Not sure what's happening so far.

Right now I play mostly .50 - $1.00 and $1-$2 where my VPIP is 15.25% and preflop Raise is 8.5%. I have a solidly winning game at that level and will...

Do you think it's possible to have a winning game at $5-$10 with a VPIP of 10% and PreFlop Raise of 5%?
Essentially you would be passing most of the speculative and marginally profitable hands...
