Re: Results
Yikes. You have big nuts. I dont think it's worth risking 400 to try to pick up the 80. If he raises you back for all your money, I assume you would have to strongy consider dumping your hand. ...

Re: AK out of position v. best player 10-10-20NL
Thats true. With 200 in the pot, if he leads at it for 200 more, and you checkraise to say 500, if he comes over the top you would need to dump your hand. Perhaps just check calling the flop would...

I didn't even think about raising. Actually I really wanted to fold. I figured the limper knew there was a good chance I had a big ace, but he bet into me anyway. He was a pretty loose, bad,...

Re: Raised on the river.. again
I would not reraise hand 3. Even though it's hard to put your oppenent on a big hand, if he is a tough player, it should occur to him that since you raised UTG you very well might be holding AA, QQ,...

Re: Another way of stating it...
Hey Josh,
I think you're right, you would need to be fairly certain you were up agaist a worse hand, because you might lose as many as three bets on the river with no pair. But if you were sure,...

Re: AK out of position v. best player 10-10-20NL
I think your best option is to just call. The problem is, if he is a tough player, your not going to break him with that hand. If he has queens or jacks or whatever, you arn't gonna get paid off...

Re: Aces fastplay
You've big nuts, but he's either gonna show you the other two aces or pocket kings. If you can bet the river, why didn't you five bet the turn? Were you worried about 88 until the other one showed...

Re: hand #1 - check and call the river n/m
I would call the first two hands, and probably be a little more optimistic about the second. I think you are beat in third hand for sure, and I would lay this down agaist the right kind of player. ...

Turn decision, fold, raise or call?
20-40 Commerce. One loose limper to me in the cutoff and I raise with AQ, suits unimportant. Button, weak tight BB, and limper called.

Re: The ultimate bluff inducer?
I disagree Elysium, a lot. You can't raise the river here with your cards down for value. You three bet before flop, at worst you are supposed to have AQ, which he can't beat. Granted, you have a...

Re: results
Point taken. Perhaps I didn't accurately describe the player in question. She wasn't the brand of maniac who does not consider the other player's holding, just the type that tends to overplay hands...

Re: Good Flop/Bad Flop (99)
The 5 is a bad card. He could have checkraised the flop with a pair and gutshot, so I think there is decent chance he either made two pair or a straight. The aurgument for betting would be that...

I agree entirely that is comes down to how likely she is to continue betting a worse hand. Also, I felt although she was a maniac, she was quite aware that I had not gotten out of line all game, and...

she would not 4 bet a worse hand
Imposible. She is a maniac but not a total idiot. When I three bet her preflop, she was well aware of the fact that I likely had a real hand. She will 4 bet any two pair or better on the turn, but...

Re: 30-60 AA hand
If I'm out of position, I three bet for sure, because I want to charge her if she is on a draw. But with position, I think calling might be best because if she is bluffing, she will probably bet the...

Re: Good Flop/Bad Flop (99)
I would raise if an ace hit, planning to check behind on the river, and definitely fold to a three bet. Although I guess you could smooth call an ace, because you would like him to keep betting into...

Re: I saw TJ Cloutier play this hand today
I would agree completly if the stacks were deeper. But on the turn he had only 600 left and there was already over 700 in the pot. With that board and a short stack, there is no way he is getting...

Re: Good Flop/Bad Flop (99)
I think I would smooth call and probably raise the turn no matter what, unless it was a seven. I think 3 betting the flop is probably fine too. You're in a nice spot here, I doubt he is going to...

Re: How do you get away from KK/AA?
I'm not sure why you didnt reraise before the flop. I think smooth calling in these spots is going to cost you money. After he reraises on the flop, I think you have to let it go. Kings are great...

I saw TJ Cloutier play this hand today
10-20 NL at the Commerce. I was waiting for a seat watching the game. Folded to T.J in MP and he opens for 120. The button calls as well as the BB. T.J has about 1000 and the other two have him...
