$50 PS NLHE - 99 in the SB facing a raise from MP (no reads)

I had played six hands with villain and hadn't seen a hand of his in that time, unsurprisingly.

In this hand I called for the implied odds if I spiked a set but I thought I had the best hand when...

Re: UTG with JJ. Call All-in bet after the flop of three 7s?

I would have to be restrained from knocking things over in an effort to call this bet.

If villain had pockets better than Jacks he reraises PF. If villain cold-called a raise from early position...

Re: Flopping two pairs out of SB

you beat busted Qhigh straightdraws, the occasional 8 drawing to the straight (like 88, or 89)... Those things happen enough i think.

Re: Flopping two pairs out of SB

I would call the 1/7 pot bet on the river with 2 pair.

Re: First time ever called a donkey - Could it be true?

As or the abuse you recieved, I would just post "9:1" and let them figure it out. As for the hand, bet that flop please.

Re: AA scary board, line check.

[ QUOTE ]
I checked the flop trying to look like I had a Q.

How would AQ play it?

[/ QUOTE ]I would check that flop if I was holding QQ. Not AQ.

Re: AA scary board, line check.

Bet the flop and this hand plays itself: You either take it down there or you lock it down if you get met with aggression. A cold call is scary. If you lose CO with a flop bet and you get position...

Re: Pocket Aces, Standard?

The PF raise was standard and I can't blame villain for calling it either assuming he could get away from a King-high rainbow. You have to bet more on the flop and turn. I don't mind the overbet...

Re: Safe Fold?

If it's suited I'll play along and gladly fold any flop that doesn't create a monster or moster draw. Unsuited? Why bother?

General stud theory question: Being raised in the first betting round

Re: Flopping Broadway out of the Small Blind

Villain had a weak Queen. ANy real aggression and he probably goes away. I certainly doubt I was going to get anything else out of him.

That may be results-oriented but in a pot with one late...

Re: Don\'t ever think of folding KK pre-flop

What if villain limps UTG you pop a raise and he reraises big? What range do you put villain on in this case? Usually it's AA or KK and if you're holding two Kings that makes the latter unlikely. ...

Flopping Broadway out of the Small Blind

I rarely slowplay but I wanted to maximize value and since it was an unraised pot, I didn't anticipate anyone having a monster so I thought that playing it fast would lead to folds.

A third spade...

Re: ($33) AKs in 3-way pot, cbet OK?

Re: ($33) AJs UTG

I don't mind raising PF with AJs. If it isolates to a single caller, I will make a CB.
