Re: what?!? Conjelco or bust!
Relax...
I mentioned CardPlayer.com because that's where I'd seen it before.
Obviously Conjelco.com is preferable...
Take it easy,
J.

Re: Can\'t find any Roy Cooke books
If you really want a new copy, you can order from the online store at CardPlayer.com.
I've never ordered anything from them, so I can't vouch for their service, etc.
I've had good experiences...

Re: Another river value bet question
I would fold the flop: the pot is small. If it was just the SB, I would bet the river, but with UTG there (and the way he'd played the hand), I think I check/call.

Re: What to do with 7\'s?
I think the flop bet is fine. The board is ragged and paired so is even less likely to connect for others. The only thing is the two-flush.
When the overcard heart falls on the turn, I would let...

Re: Ho hum?
Why not bet the turn? Not a criticism -- just trying to learn.
BB might not go anywhere, but if the CO folds, you increase your chances of winning if you spike an A (or even a J), no? Or is it...

Re: Trouble hands
Stu, did you have any reads on the players?
On the JJ hand, I would lean more heavily towards folding if MP1 was generally passive. Otherwise I think calling 1 river bet is not bad (since the BB...

Re: K9s in BB
PF - I'd probably just check unless the table was a bit looser than the average Party 0.5/1.
Flop - since the pot is so small, I would probably check/fold. With such a coordinated flop, you have...

Re: One more question
Hold'Em Excellence is pretty useless.
ITH is good -- you're much better off spending your money on that instead. If you're an absolute beginner, the Lee Jones book is okay, too. Just make sure...

Re: TPNK makes 2-pair on the turn
Based on what I'd seen so far, I would feel confident in him continuing to bet. In a similar situation with a similar player next time, I try for the check-raise.
The part I was most considered...

Re: Checking turn too weak-tight?
Totally agree. I got passive with my pocket pair because it was smaller than top-pair. I would have been much better off leading out on the turn.
He definitely wasn't tricky. So I think betting...

Re: Checking turn too weak-tight?
I agree. It was a mistake not betting the turn. I don't give him credit for a flush, because he'd been more aggressive with his past flush draws. I felt I gave him too much credit for a K -- it's...

Incidentally, how common is flush over flush? Is it about as common as set over set?
What if my flush was smaller,...
