Re: river donk with an underpair
i like it. you can easily fold to a river raise. the number of ace high hands he has that would check behind you here and that will call your donk bet would seem to make it worth a try. it is hard...

Re: 20/40 extravaganza...back to basics, AQ
i agree at 11 to 1 you'll catch enough ace hands that you have outkicked to make it worth the call, but i'm sure it is pretty close. i'd say with ace ten kicker it might become a fold.

Re: Is This River Fold OK?
two questions:
1. if utg would have folded on the turn would you have called the river hu?
2. with a pot of 14 bb you only need be right 1 in 15 to make this call correct. do you not think...

Re: AJs Turn Raise....what do you think?
if he is really raising too much 25+ then i like the raise the flop idea over the raise the turn idea. but more important than his raising range is what do you think his capping range is. if he is...

Re: respecting river raises
thanks cartman. those points you made were good enough to convince me that it is so. i just couldn't come up with any reasons myself as i stated. thanks to everyone for their help on this.

Re: respecting river raises
perhaps my original post wasn't clear. i appologize if that is the case. my question is why is a check raise from your opponent on the river more of an indication of strength than if your opponent...

respecting river raises
i believe that some very respected posters have stated that a river check raise is even stronger than a river raise. (i don't think i understand why that is) let's say for arguments sake that our...

Re: Passive line
i think i prefer your initial reaction of 3 betting the flop and leading the turn. given that you chose not to do that i think i would have donk bet the turn as long as no spade hit. by the time...

Re: Quick Question
i'm guessing that he didn't do anything special preflop. therefore his range of hands maybe somewhat higher. but with a player this aggressive post flop he is definately capable of capping with...

Re: I bluff in another small pot
is this because it is rainbow or because it is ace high? i'm guessing that both are a factor, but the ace high flop means that you think the button doesn't have an ace because he didn't try to steal...

Re: Squeeze with AA
if the bb is out of the hand i'd be in favor of capping the turn and leading the river (only putting in two bets on the river unimproved).

Re: Squeeze with AA
at first glace i think i would have donked this turn. if the button is aggressive as he looks he will probably raise your donk bet and drive out the big blind. the pot is big enough i'd like to...

Re: 55 Hand vs A DANE
i like the way you played it. the river donk bet is great because he has shown a tendancy to raise you on any street so far so you might get three bets or more on the river. he definately appears...

Re: not a great river card
yeah you have to bet this river and i think that with top pair top kicker you probably can call a raise too. however, i haven't played 1/2 so maybe the opponents are tight enough to fold to a river...
