Re: Curtains Hand 1

How does Curtains have 5BB? I thought the blinds were 50/100.

Re: Decision based on your ROI

[ QUOTE ]
What GrekeHaus said is basically correct. People who pass up +.3% edges late in a tournament are very bad poker players in my book.

I agree. But how does this translate...

Equity of position--can anyone point me in the right direction?

Does anyone recall articles written about the equity value of position? Or any studies done somewhere that are accessible online?

Or does anyone have anything to add to the subject? How much...

I have heard a few people say lately that there is more money making potential in MTT's than SnG's is this true? Has anyone else thought about switching to MTT's. Do you really think there...

Re: Bad strategy or good?

Why do you people keep saying he shouldn't raise AJs from the button? Especially at the 50/100 blind level. Because of the limper? I'd probably open push here.

Re: Question about hand ranges & equity (calling vs. raising, yada yad

I'm not sure it is of much value to base pre-flop equity on a hand's value against random hands (as you've doen in the opening post.

The original poster specifically mentioned that we were talking about raises in general, not just pushes.

Oh, no no no. Dismissing slight equity edges is an enormous mistake. In fact, the difference between a losing player and a 20% ROI is identifying these slight equity edges....

I think you guys underestimate the strength of suited hands in SnG's.

For example (checked with SNGPT) if there are 6 players left, you are in CO, 1000 chip game. You have 1000 chips...

Re: Question about hand ranges & equity (calling vs. raising, yada yad

I dunno, Lori. The difference between being suited and unsuited is pretty important, even in NL. The difference is comparable to TT vs. 77 (not vs. each other, of course).

Re: Question about hand ranges & equity (calling vs. raising, yada yad

The equity value assumes you see all five board cards. Some hands won't manage that, which is why small suited connectors usually stink so bad in SNGs and why LHE players sometimes have a...

Question about hand ranges & equity (calling vs. raising, yada yada)

Now, we know (at least, I hope we all know), that certain hands have different equity depending on whether or not you're facing a raise, or raising. As an example, KQs vs ATo from the button.

So, the difference in chips is likely hurting me. Yes, I do play...

I don\'t get it. WTF could I possibly doing so wrong?

It's not a down streak. It's not bad beats. It's a statistical problem. The following numbers are close. Not exact. But close.

Last ~5000 $20/$30 tournaments, ROI ~= 24%

Last ~3000 $50...
