Re: Reasons why NOT to become a dealer!

[ QUOTE ]

Most pros and casino management look down on dealers

[/ QUOTE ]

Serious question:

Why is it that the dealers look down on the floor people and vice versa? It seems kind of...

Re: Top Two on the flop

I agree about planning ahead. I'm sure others will get a kick out of me saying this, but it is hard enough for me to think about what to do on THIS street, let alone the NEXT.

Perhaps it will...

Re: Top Two on the flop

I feel like there is a good chance that I am still ahead here, and I want to take down the pot now. So I bet $300. He called with little hesitation.

Re: Top Two on the flop

I agree that it feels like a set, but I just can't get there. I've got a King and a 5...so there is only 1 way for him to have KK or 55. I just can't see him cold-calling a PFR with 22.

If I...

AA-QQ in EP

I have been having trouble playing these hands (AA-QQ) in the first 3 positions.

In my (loose 5/5) game with multiple limpers, is it best to make a large raise and hopefully end it there? Or is...

Re: Flopped Flush - A vs. K

Thanks LYD! I was making the assumption of them holding K-X and A-Y suited, so your answer works perfectly.

Can you explain the mathematical operation of "C(9,3)/C(48,3)" so I can explain it to...

Flopped Flush - A vs. K

Please help me settle an argument with a friend.

Last night he flops K-high flush. Villain also flops A-high flush. Full table. He feels very strongly that the probability of this specific...

Re: Is there a standard measure of success for NL Cash Games?

What's an acceptable hourly rate for live play (where it is much harder to keep track of the # of hands)?

Flopped FH vs. Flopped Quads

What are the odds?

I found at another site that flopped quads are 407/1 and a flopped FH is 136/1...but I don't know how to do the math from there.

Thanks in advance.

Re: QQ first to act

I led for $40. Folded around to LP who makes it $100. LP is loose and seems to make these kind of bets in these kind of spots with all kinds of hands (TP, 2P, P w/draw). He has me covered and I...

I've often thought about this.

The top players in this game can't even come close to the top players in business/industry.

Steve Wynn could probably BUY the top 10 poker players combined a...

This means absolutely nothing, but last night I saw a guy take over $1000 off a $40 max buy-in NL game. Blinds are 1-1.

Re: Collusion: Yes, No, or Maybe?

Lehigh,

Dude, you are either really good or you were there!!!

You hit the trifecta: EP = JJ, LP1 = TT, LP2 = AK

Are you in SoCal?

Re: Collusion: Yes, No, or Maybe?

Uh, no. I was out of the hand. If I was LP1 I would have said so...not come up with some bullshit like "This is what happened to a friend of mine...".

Nice try.

Collusion: Yes, No, or Maybe?

B&M 5/5 NL game.

EP open raises, LP1 re-raises, LP2 calls...EP re-raises all in (about $300 and change). LP1 and LP2 have EP covered, and call.

Before the flop, LP1 asks LP2 (sitting next to...

Re: Interesting JJ w/ a SF-Draw

I agree. However, I was referring to the size of his bet. If he had less of a holding, he would have made it $15 or $20. $30 is his standard big-pair raise.
