Re: Reverse Implied Odds?
I don't think that the expectation associated with this hand matters if you raise or call, but you certaintly don't want to give up all your expectation by folding.
I prefer to raise, but then...

Re: Taking a weird line with AKs
I would bet the flop. I doubt UTG has anything better than ace high here, and probably doesn't even have a diamond. I think he is likely on a bluff.
While an argument can be made for a turn iso-...

Re: Live Hand: Pop it now or later?
Given the loose action, mucking on the flop doesn't seem like a very good idea. Remember that the odds of a player flopping a flush are 1 in 117, I will gladly be wrong once in order to be right 116...

Re: 66 hand, inspired by test
You are correct that I should have folded PF, but this was an action table, and I figured I would have the over- callers to allow me equity for the set. So I made an error in judgement.
I do make...

66 hand, inspired by test
This is a hand that happened about a month ago. The villian is rather tough, but to say the least, he doesn't always play his A- game because he doesn't care much about the stakes.
Hero holds 6...

Re: The Psychology of Poker By: Alan Shoomaker
I will defer common opinion and say that I am not the largest fan of this book.
I am a very experienced player and I do derive most of my income from playing.
However, I will not say that it...

starting hands -- a survey
I was doing some thinking. I would like to know how everybody on this forum plays certain hands before the flop, and how they see the values of different hands.
Here is a series of questions that...

Commerce 9/18. I don't know exactly what happened here, but I won it anyway.
Villian is somewhere between tight and loose, but, like the rest of the table, freezes up on the later streets, he...

I usually play small stakes live, but I am taking shots at 9/18. I couldn't help but notice several things that are different.
1- value betting tends to loose value
2- no, they don't slowplay...
