Did I quit too soon?

10 handed, hero is in ep1 with KcTc

hero calls, ep2, mp1, mp2 call, mp3 raises, co, button, bb, hero, ep2, mp1, mp2 call. 8 to the flop.

Flop(15 1/2 SB) J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

hero, ep2 check, ep3 bets, mp1 calls, mp2 raises, co calls, button 3 bets, bb folds, 3 bets to hero who folds.

I have an OESD, an overcard, the pot is very large, but at least 2 people are showing strength and I would have to call 3 bets cold. Straightforward laydown?

I think I lay this down here too. You are likely up against a made straight, a flush draw, or a set (or a mix of those hands)

which means your outs are mighty thin. The only reliable card would be a non-diamond Q and then you have to face possible draws to a flush or FH.

Easy fold. You're overcard is likely not clean, meaning your are drawing to 4 outs (at most, if someone doesn't already have the straight) to what most likely will be a split pot, and you have to call 3 bets cold to do this. Also, you could make your straight and the flush might still get there.

I fold this without a second thought.
