K9o in BB

3/6 at TGC. K9o in BB, 4 limpers, SB and I come along. flop comes Kxx, rainbow. I check, anticipating a raise if there is a bet. When it comes back to me, there has been a bet and a raise. I think for a while and fold. Is this the right move.

Results later.

What is the xx of the flop? K83 and K67 are two very different flops. What do you think of the raiser? Normally, I'd prolly fold this.

Kxx means I don't have a fresh memory of what x and x were. All I know is that they were not connected (67) and they were both low cards (ie each was either a 2,3,4,5,6,or 7).

Raiser bet on every street, and original bettor called down. K5o won, and I just about crapped myself.

Can you explain why they are very different, and how one would approach those hands differently and why?

You should be more likely to fold to a bet and a raise on a K72r flop than on a K87 two-tone flop, since in the first case either the bettor or raiser is more likely to have a better made hand than you (given that there are no draws out there to be raising with), whereas in the second case you are more likely to have the best hand, since players could be raising on the come.

I think so - too much potential to lose many bets and
you'll never really know where you stand.

Good fold.

Fold. I would bet the flop here almost every time, by the way, unless I knew the button would reliably bet when checked to. I'd be a lot more likely to check-raise top pair on a Qxx/Jxx/etc flop, since getting rid of overcards is of greater importance.
