Time and Luck in tourney

Is it just me or is it almost impossible constanly win at tournaments when the limits rise every 15 minutes, without a rabbit's foot surgically implanted in your ass? Also the first round is 25-50 with only $800 to start, no rebuys,at limit hold em.

Or is it that in limit hold em people don't respect raises?

I played this morning at Pachenga and lasted until the fourth level. I was dealt pocket Queens three times in level 2 and lost all three, never slow played to a couple of people holding get this: first loss was a guy holding pocket 6's and making a set on the turn, second loss to a guy holding A 9 off suit and getting the ace on the river, and third time to a guy holding 5d 6d and making a flush on the river. Bastards.

The only hand I won was JTc, making two pair on the turn. I am really begining to hate limit hold em tournements. Am I doing something wrong? Or does lady luck have too much of an influence on this tourney.

If anybody has every played at Pachenga on Saturday morning, how did you do?

Re: Time and Luck in tourney

i don't know too many folks out there who actually like limit hold 'em tournaments. the main reason people i know play tournaments is the huge skill advantage they have over the other players, which is much greater at no-limit or pot-limit than limit.

frankly, the limit game is much more of a crapshoot, like you said. i'll only play in one if there's nothing else for me to do.

The particular structure he mentioned was especially crappy. I actually like them (live only) but only when it's a bit less of a crap shoot than that one.
