check a boat on the turn??

30/60 10 handed party

no stats on the button or bb, sb is a tag, but overly agressive...

folded around to me, I raise w/ A5s on the co, only bb calls

flop is 55K, he checks, I bet, he calls...

turn is A.... anyone check here?..... I have no stats on him, hasn't done anything out of line one way or the other in the 2 orbits I've been sitting w/ him

Every time I don't have an A I get check/raised here. Bet/3-bet.

Your opponent called on a drawless flop, which makes him more likely to have a king, and if he has a king he will not fold so you likely have your market, so I would bet the turn. On your lucky days he may even have a 5, and in that situation youll be very glad you bet the turn.

Checking is out of the question. Say you check and he bets the river, you raise, he calls. It's the same as if you bet the turn and river. The bonus for betting is he might play back at you or have a decent hand himself, allowing you to net extra bets.
