LAG Isolation Hand

Villian is 85/11 so not a true LAG but close. He's been running over the table with aggressive post flop play.

Party 2/4. Villian open limps UTG+2. Folded to me on the button with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I raise, blinds fold, villian calls.

Flop is K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Villian bets, I raise, he 3-bets, I call.

Turn 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Check, check.

River K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. He bets, I call.

PF is probably a little thin, depending on how tight the blinds are.

I think you've gotta bet the turn here, for value and to avoid giving a free card. Given your read, it's highly likely you are ahead and will be paid off by a worse hand. I'd also raise the river if he bet into me again.

When playing verse a LAG, don't be afraid to value bet with the more marginal holdings (though you have improved to quite a strong hand on the river), as their range is very wide - it's likely he'll play any pair/draw this way, and even a total bluff, and thus you'll often be good.

Just to avoid confusion, I'm not advocating wild aggression verse all LAGs, rather value betting/raising when there's a good chance you're best.

Preflop: marginal at best.
Flop: fine.
Turn: Weird. His 3bet/check creeps me out. Free card play OOP? I bet.

I want to raise the river.

Unless the blinds are particularly tight, I don't like the pf raise.

Flop and turn are fine, but I think you can value raise the river.
