1-2 NL Buy-in

The Foxwood's 1-2NL game has a $100 Max buy-in ($40 min). Has anyone seen this anywhere else? Specifically any of the AC casinos? Most of the games I have played have $250 or $300 buy-ins.

those are real rare - don't know about AC - I only can think of one in Vegas and that has tons of local card rooms -

GL. You do realize that's a $250 buyin is just usually a max. buyin and you can buy in for less - and I guarantee you if you sit down at any $100 1/2 NL game you're going to be playing a short stack anyways cause several players will have doubled and trippled up and will be almost unreachable to you while they can do major damage to your stack.

If it's a 1/2 game, I buy in for $100 - that's just it - don't care if it's $100 buyin or unlimited buyin.

The bigger the stacks, the more likely raises will be real big and be called and you can sit and wait a LONG time for some big hands while still playing and betting your regular hands at 1/2 value.

I heard at FW you can buy in for 100, post a blind, then buy in for another 100 to get a $198 starting stack.

You heard wrong. You can buy in for $40, tip somebody $1, rebuy for $100 more, and start with $139.

Most places here in vegas USED to have a $100 max buy-in for 1-2 no limit, but have since raised it to $200 (most rooms). The min buy-in ranges from $40 to $100. The game probably plays best with a $100-$200 buy-in range. A couple casinos have switched to 1-3 blinds, which I think kicks butt, makes for a more action game.

The Imperial Palace in Las Vegas has this format. It's pretty terrible. The max should be at least $200, IMO.

NY-Ontario Border at the Mohawk Casino... the 1/3 NL has a buy-in of $100-$500... Lots of action there!
