confusion +semibluff

bad call preflop?
on the flop i didn't think he had a set... i don't normally see people raise 3x with a set on the flop.. they usually wait till the turn... still a bad call tho... correct?
turn confused me... initial thoughts were he was trying to trap on the river... then when the flush card came i figured the odds were good it would scare him... + the fact that he checked the turn could possibly have been weakness.. i figured a semibluff on the river would be good... thoughts?

Pre-flop call is fine, but the flop is an easy fold.

No, it was not a good preflop call!
If you didn't know how to play an easy dominaded hand post flop. Don't coldcall!!!

I would put him on a AJ or mabey a bigger pair!

Fold preflop..being oop with easily dominated hand such as QJs sucks.

you MUST fold to that flop raise. given the call, only hand you have beat is AK semibluff, so the riverbet is bad because you will seldom get called by a worse hand.

I usually fold PF. Playing OOP is ugly.

Re: confusion +semibluff

By defenition you can't semibluff on the river... This is only possible with more cards to come!

Btw, you need to muck this hand PF.

Re: confusion +semibluff

IF you do want to call pf, which must are advocating against, you need a plan as to what you are going to do with the rest of the hand. YOu need to decide what exactly you are trying to hit with that hand, i.e. OESD, FD, TPGK, etc. In this situation, I think TPGK isnt really a good hand, so you are looking for OESD or a FD most likely, with the occusional 2pr or trips in there. Villian has announced he likes his hand and will play for all his marbles with it. Fold on the flop.
