(11) flopped set on drawish board

This is the first hand I've played and about the 5th hand overall. The only "useful" info is that BB has opened with a minbet on the flop every hand he's played.

I hit my set, but the board's a bit scarier than I'd like. What's my line here? What do I do if a scare card (club, 3, or 7) comes? I'll add more of the hand after seeing what people have to say.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I figured I should raise, but how much? Also, what's my response to a big reraise?

Re: (11) flopped set on drawish board

I'd make it 120 and then shove over a reraise. If he has 32, 73, or 87 so be it. At an 11 you have to be happy to get your money in with a set on a draw-heavy board. Plus even if you are behind to a lame hand, you can fill up and pwn. That's what I would do, at least.

i'd raise to about 100, and push over any reraise. i could get cheeky and call the flop and try to get all the chips in on the turn, but, meh. charge em while they're willing to pay.

That makes sense. Here\'s the rest:

Okay, I can see that. I raised a little smaller hoping not to scare everyone away.

My thoughts on the rest of the hand are in blue. Does that look reasonable, or should I have been less scared of the draws?

Well, that blows. I need to find out where I am though, plus I can't let him draw for free in case he's got a single club or a straight draw, so a I'll bet a bit more than 1/2 pot. I really don't know what to do if he pushes, though.

SB checks, Hero bets t150, SB calls t150.

Okay, he's either got a made hand weaker than mine (or a very unlikely 66) or he's still drawing. Check behind on a scare card, bet a brick.

Raising the pot is rarely bad. That's a good place to start if you don't know how much to raise.

You're very happy to get all-in on the flop. Most of the time, someone will be pushing a draw. You have a decent chance of improving even if you're behind (a about 1 in 3).

I'm guessing if he pushes in response, I should just whine about it and call, right?

Yeah, that's about the only part of the postflop I'm comfortable with. I just felt a bit lost on this one.

i think so, because of the chances he could be on a pair and a flush draw, two pair, etc., and because in the event that he does have a made hand, you've still got 10 outs to improve. i mean, this is all just rehashing basic stuff. i can see why you dont like the situation.
