reading hands live

of all the improvements i've made since posting on this wonderful forum it is reading hands. i can tell now more than ever when a player is value betting or when he is bluffing and USUALLY what their holdings are.

however, i have a real issue with the player that varies her betting:

cycles randomly from betting 7$ - 15$ preflop, overbets flop or underbets.

i'm stuck on how to beat an opponent like this. is this considered good LAG if the player has excellent post flop play? would it be wise to raise the flop then check it down/calling a reasonable river bet and folding to a flop reraise?

PokerFink would hopefully be able to help me with this, any other live players notice this? thanks in advance!

I'm not sure what you're asking.

You're asking me how to read a good LAG? You can't really... thats the point of being a good LAG.

How to deal with them? Just keep the pot small if possible to avoid being put to a big decision. If they view you as tight/nitty, call them a lot. If you snap off a lot of bluffs, fold more, because good LAGs are observant and won't bluff you if you've been calling a lot.
