Prop best strategy?
 

I am taking a job as poker room prop for 3/6 getting paid $18 per hr. I am doing this to get my foot in the door so I will be on the top of the list for next dealer job.

What is the best strategy for this limit, very tight or go with the flow. Low limit you have to show down the best hand at a full table, no bluffing. Short handed 4-5 players I see semi tight aggressive as the best way to go. I am interested in getting answers from others who either have worked as a prop or are current card room pros.

What do you see as the pit falls of a low limit prop?

Just play to break even, don't try any fancy [censored]. Being paid 3BB/hr is well more than enough profit.

Might as well play to win as these games are extremely soft. The only thing I would recomend is to cut down on check raising as much as possible because it might cut down on the tips you receive as a dealer. (I'm not speaking from experience.)

I'd recommend a lot of reading. There are a lot of good post around. I'd look up some short handed stuff. You need to be prepared because you could drop 18 an hour easy if you are really bad. Conversely you could make a killing if you're good.

The answer can't be anything other than playing the best poker with the most +EV decisions. If you are going to be sitting for long hrs you really should learn how to play well. If you suck at poker then playing very tight until you don't suck will be your best bet.

Sorry for my ignorance but what does "Prop or I am guessing Proposition play" mean? Do you get paid $18 an hour to play poker at a casino? Why?

I assume ur a winning player especially at something like 3/6 live full games. That being said i would definately focus on my shorthanded play. From what i understand, ull be playing in short games alot because ur job is basically to get new games off the ground. $18 dollars an hour? before winnings? where do i sign up?
