Full Tilt FT 20+2 - AQ in BB facing 1 limper

Table is pretty tight, no one doing anything out of the ordinary. Almost all hands that are shown are AJ+ or mid PP+. Lots of raising pre-flop then folding behind.

One limper early, I find AQ in the BB. Even though I'm short stacked, I think maybe it's +ev to see one more orbit and maybe find a way to double up that way. Of course, this spot may be my best shot. I considered just checking to see if I catch the flop. His limp seemed a little fishy, but I didn't think too much about it.

Is pushing AQ here o.k., checking too weak? Love to hear your thoughts, thanks!

(sorry, no converter for Full Tilt)

Re: Full Tilt FT 20+2 - AQ in BB facing 1 limper

I think this is a must push situation given how short you are. The odds of you getting a better hand in the next orbit, when you will be getting increasingly smaller is too slim to wait. The antes make this an even easier decision in my mind. You have a pretty premium hand given how short your stack is. I think you can expect to see 88-JJ, AQ, etc. enough to make this a profitable push. Don't let the fact that it didn't work out here stop you.

Thanks, that's what I figured. I can't just keep trying to climb the ladder if I want to win these things, which is why I pushed. If I get lucky and double up there, I'm in good shape.

Thanks again!

This is a pretty easy push. Dont second guess your push just because he had kings. You would have felt great about it if you hit your Ace. With your stack size, and the already dead money in the pot you have to push and actually hope to get called and double at this point in the tourney.

This exact same situation happened to me just last night. UTG limps, two more limpers and I'm in the BB. I push AQs, i was short stacked, UTG goes all in, other limpers fold and UTG shows KK. I didnt play anymore after that, lol. Your play was fine, at leas I hope so since I did the same thing.
