Should I have called or did I make the right raise?

Blinds at $100-$200, early in 76 person live tourney ($100 buy-in). I have $7K, dominating the table.

UTG goes all-in for his last $500. UTG+1 and UTG+2 call. Folds to me OTB and I have TT.

I raised to $2,500, thinking anyone with a better hand would have raised with so many left to act. It folds around to UTG+2 who calls (???).

Flop is Axx. He has $1000 left and checks (???). So I have to push, and I do. He calls and flips over AQo.

Did I play this right?

I think your assumption that anyone with a better hand raises applies to better pocket pairs and AK, but I can see AQ playing the hand exactly as he did. What did UTG have?

UTG had 55. I guess my thought was, what could I have re-raised with that AQ thought he was ahead of, or getting the right price for. There was 4000 in the pot and he had to call 2000. Yes, he's getting 2-1, he's either a coin flip dog (I have JJ/TT, etc), a 3-1 dog (I have AK, KK) or a 6-1 dog (I have AA). The chances that I have him killed are pretty good (it was still early and there's no way we had a read on e/o).

Just played weird, IMO.
