How does this look?

UTG+2 is 40/.7/.6, no stats on BB but seemed pretty passive. Here is what I was thinking on all the streets:

On the flop, I decided that after I was raised, I would go for a check-raise on the turn, pending if the card was a spade. Maybe I should have 3 bet it?

On the turn I did my check-raise (which is something I'm trying to work on, was this a good spot?). After he three bet me, I was afraid he flopped a set or hit one on the turn. I didn't know why else he would 3 bet me.

On the river I planned to check/call.

So how badly did I mess this up? ;p

*grunch*
Preflop - ok
Flop - I like the original bet (I don't like slowplaying boards with 2 flush cards or 2 straight cards) For the same reason I three bet here (the only thing that is ahead of you here is trips - which is not real likely and you still have outs to a full house). To me the call / turn check raise is a little too fancy for these low limit games. UTG+1 is LP and you don't have to trick him to take his money.

Preflop: Fine.

Flop: I think you're ok to go for an overcall from BB, here, and try for the c/r on the turn.

Turn: Cap this. He'd be 3-betting many more hands than a set, here, including AK (esp. suited in spades), a weaker kings-up, a weaker two-pair.

River: All we can hope is that the kitten didn't suffer.

It's not bad. I would have just 3-bet the flop. Getting 3-bet on the turn is very scary, and I don't think there's anything wrong with slowing down. Although you fear sets, you may have a better two pair than villain, but it's probably not worth more than a couple more bets. If you wanted to get two more bets in the pot, you can bet-call the river. If you cap the turn and lead the river, you may end up putting three bets in the pot. But I have a tough time believing he can have two pair if he raises you after you donk into his turn 3-bet, so your line might be best.

Did he get trigger happy with something like Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]?

I would raise the flop for value, but I actually like your play better. Maybe I just learned something.

Re: How does this look?

You really really need to cap the turn. He didn't raise Preflop, so KK is out of there... pretty much his range looks like he raises AA and KK, leaving TT and 44 beating you.

He doesn't have 55, he wouldn't bet the flop with such PT numbers. He could easily have K4, AK, maybe T4s, K5, etc. Cap turn.
