Stars $11 MTT, my knockout hand

This is prolly basic for you guys, but this is basically my first MTT. I just got knocked out of the $10+1 at Stars. BB just sat out 2 hands ago. No hands on him, no read. After he reraised me, I took some time, cuz I didn't know if I wanted to reraise or to see the flop.

Avg stack was 5k to 5.5k, with about 400 players left.

If it matters, I've been playing tight winning races so far. Just doubling up one stack at a time.

Pretty standard. I think you did fine. I like pushing here, because if you just call, you're committing about a third of your stack. And if a K or A flops, you're not going to have a clue where you stand.

I like a push here. Sorry if you ran into AA or KK.

I agree that this is a push, but for a moment, playing devil's advocate...

Habitually, the place in these tournaments is fairly loose and passive. Players with middle pocket pairs, big aces, etc. really like to call and either: a) see a safe flop for their pair (and often, go broke with an overpair) or b) hit their A or K before investing more money. If I raise from EP and get, basically, min-raised, I think you see AA or KK much more often than you might at the $50+ level.

Just food for thought.

Yeah, when he raised my raise 1.5x, I was thinking, that's what I'd raise w/ AA (and so did he ).
