final table, raise UTG with 55, chip leader calls

This is the final table of a UB 33 MTT. Usual payout structure (i.e., 7-4 are not too different in payout, 3, 2, and 1 are much bigger).

Everyone has been playing fairly aggressively and pretty tight (including me). The button is the chip leader and has been the most aggressive recently.

A couple of questions:

Should I have played differently preflop?
Should I have gone all in on flop, turn, or river (I assume my only bet is all in...)?

7 handed -- blinds 1000/2000 with 200 antes

SB: 46700
BB: 30640
Hero (UTG): 27535
MP1: 27700
MP2: 26355
CO: 42255
Button: 76315

Hero: 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Pre-flop: Hero raises to 6000, 3 folds, button calls, blinds fold

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Pot = 16,400; Hero has 21,335; Button has 70,115

Hero checks. Button checks.

Turn: J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Hero checks. Button checks.

River: J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Hero checks. Button checks.

I don't like the raise preflop. 55 is weak UTG already, and you're raising into the two chip leaders' blinds.

In this situation, I think raising is the worst alternative of folding, limping, or pushing.

Yeah, when the chip leader called I realized I'd made a mistake by not pushing (my first thought) or folding (my second thought).

The way I played it, I think I should have gone all in on the flop, but I'm not sure. He could have called and lost and still been in good shape.

My thought at the time was "you made a mistake by getting caught in this hand -- don't make it worse -- don't put more money in".
