Michigan (Detroit area) Casinos?

Any juicy live action in this area? Don't ask why I'm going to Detroit...in December.

Greek Town is the only semi-reasonable one to play at... I would avoid goin though! If you want a decent game, you wont find one here. They are boring and full of idiots! 1 outta ever 3 hands you get people acting outta turn or throwing the wrong ammount in the pot, then they try to play Dealer and figure it out themselves...Seriously, I would avoid going if possible!

Go to Greektown. Avoid Motorcity. The motorcity room is a bit nicer, but they have $6 max rake to Greektown's $5 max rake. But if you don't care about that go to Motorcity.

First hand I sit down (5-10 LHE) and get JJ in the BB almost eveyone limps (full table) and button raises, I 3bet, all call, button caps and its capped with about 8 to the flop. So the games are pretty good. But this hand was an exception. It was usually 6 handed to the flop with no raise.

Greektown's smoky and dirty as hell, but the players suck. No limit above 5/10 usually, maybe 10/20 if you're lucky. I think the floor said a 20/40 goes on Tuesdays. There's a 10/25 PLO game that goes Tuesdays and Fridays I think, and a bunch of small NL games. 2/2/5 uncapped buyin is the biggest game they said they spread regularly - it's a pretty decent game. Must-move game was spectacular, but even the main game (where the guy sitting next to me knew the names of every other guy at the table) wasn't bad. Call ahead if you want the bigger games - the lists don't really move.

There's also a room at Motor City and I'm told there's one at Casino Windsor, but I don't know anything about them, except that the MCC NL game is 2/5/5.

A quick comment for small stakes NL players in Detroit...

with both rooms charging $6 a half hour, the rake gets rediculous, at Greektown, with only a $100 buy in, if you go an hour or two with out a hand, entirely possible since 30 hands an hour is lucky, you can get crippled easily. The Motor city 1/2 200 max is just as soft as greektown, but with the 200 max, same rake, if you go an our or two without a pot, you won't see a quarter of your stack raked away.

I play mostly Low Limit. About how far is this Greektown everyone speaks of from Detroit? I'm actually staying in a town called Plymouth - hell, I don't even know how far that is from Detroit. I know I know - I suck at travel arrangements.
Thanks for all the tips.

I was pretty lucky and got a seat in the 10/20 game when it started on a Sunday afternoon, having only waited about 45 minutes. Others said they had been there waiting for it to go for 3 hours.

Their 3/6 and 5/10 are like playing microlimits online. For their 10/20 I only have this one experience, but it started out weak-tight, and then for about my last hour we started going 6 to a flop.
