Running at 22 (VPIP), 15 PFR

Morning,

Just going through my Pokertracker stats for my last 20,000 hands. Over the last month or so I've been concentrating in raising my VPIP and to a degree my PFR.

I was hoping to bump my VPIP higher than 22 to around 25 but it seems that I'm in a lull.

1) If you saw my stats of 22/15 (and nothing else, my game etc.), what would you assume from my play? If I raised, could you put me on a hand?
2) How do I go about bumping up my VPIP? Should I be limping more? With a PFR raise of 15 you probably could make some assumptions of what I go for in regard of starting hand requirements (and raising hand requirments)

I'm currently running at 1.1BB/100 at the moment, seems like one big rollercoaster ride at the moment through $2/4 and $3/6.

22/15 isn't bad, in fact it used to be about the preferred VPIP/PFR .. not that long ago on the forums

I would worry about postflop play more, and then worry about adding in extra hands

The thing with stats is, you don't want to be putting the cart before the horse. If you try purposely increasing your stats you may find yourself in very marginal situations that you're not ready for yet. Just concentrate on playing the best poker you can and studying as much as possible and your stats will naturally fall into line to reflect your playing ability.

I jumped from 19/13 or so to 25/17 mostly just by improving my blind defense. Read the threads on that and practice.

Thanks for the quick replies guys - ok I guess I should be concentrating improving my game in other areas, and hopefully the VPIP and PFR will take care of itself.

Cheers

Im 21/10 over 1700hands right now, Ill tell ya where im at in 10k

Don't worry about PT stats right now, Worry about getting that 1BB/100 up to 2BB/100.

Are you defending your SB and BB? This will increase PFR and VPIP aswell as hoping increasing profits.

be warned, SB/BB play is tough.

My last 20k, 1.8 winrate (completely meaningless), 5/10 party. My biggest concern is my WTSD of only 32 , which needs to be plugged a bit, which I think I can do if i tigthen up slightly.
