Interesting 22 hand

I liked my play on this one after UTG folded on the flop. Then when the hand was over I had doubts. Does anyone else make this kind of play with dueces?

UTG was a pretty solid player something like 20/8/something, I don't remember but it doesn't really matter.

SB was very fishy 50/2/.5ish.

Why did you bet the river? Even if he's calling with ace high here sometimes, it definately isn't >50% of the time.

The only really sticky spot is the river bet. I think it's only good if he's truly awful.

How many hands did you have with the SB?

even fish dont play an overpair like this and since his raise range seems reasonable for a big vpip i dont know what to put him on other than overs. if villain is likely to showdown ace high i like a river bet. if villain peels until the river and then folds unimproved ace high then i like a check behind. and yes, how many hands did you have on the villain?

I play a very selective game, ok I'm tight. I bet the river thinking that it was for value. Moreover I wanted the table to see that I bet an underpair the whole way.

I had around a hundred hands on the SB.

Re: Interesting 22 hand

100 hands isnt much. a more reliable read is how the villain bet his hands that he showed down and what he showed down. if this guy is showing down 47s trash mid pair sevens in a raised pot then its safe to say this guy is loose on both sides of the flop. if hes showing down AQo unimproved when you reasoned that the other player had a strong holding, then you can say hes tight preflop but calls down too much postflop.

i think this hand is fine... i don't really see how he could have anything other than overcards, and he's either going to call with them or fold them. if his range is weighted so heavily to overcards and we have a clue that he is not a good player, this seems like a value bet.

With a VPIP of 50, his range isn't very weighted to overcards here, and with such a low aggression factor he could very well have any piece of the board and not be betting it. With a more specific read on him I could see the river bet, but with what has been presented so far, I dislike it.

I like the flop and turn though.

His VPIP is 50, but his PFR is 2.
