Question for Canadian Players

What cities in Canada have casinos with poker, and how old must you be to play? My brother is turning 18 next summer and wants to vacation in Canada to play in a casino. Any info. on specific casinos would be appreciated.

Well i know theres a few rooms in Calgary here. Only need to be 18. I've only been to the one and it was alright nothing special apparently the other rooms are nicer, they have twice daily rebuy tournaments(20,30$) and run some 4/8, 5/10 and 10/20 depending on demand if i remember correcrly.

I'm pretty sure there are atleast 2 more rooms and another casino opens up this weekend or last i believe and due to the fact its a 30+ minute drive away i havent gone to see it yet.

If you want more info on the Calgary poker scene visit. flushdraw.ca

they will be able to help you infinitely more then I can.

Apparently Vancouver has a pretty good poker room. Atleast a lot of the stars play there when they are out shooting movies on the coast.

Casino Windsor, Casino Niagra and Casino Rama(Orillia) are the big ones where I live. There may be others but I don't know of any.

There are a lot of smaller charity Casinos around as well.

I should also mention that you need to be 19 to enter Casinos in Canada

It's different province to province. I believe it's 19 everywhere but 18 in Alberta and Quebec.

Go to Calgary. Alberta and Quebec are the only provinces that the age is 18.

Well If you want to play Poker, dont come to Quebec... Only poker you will find is casino poker ( let it ride, caribeen... ) The law didnt pass yet, so you cant find any poker ring games in our casinos.

Hopefully soon though.

So I guess you're limited to Alberta. There's a ton of Casinos here. Calgary has 6 casinos, 5 of which spread poker. Casino Calgary, Stampede Casino, Elbow River Casino, Cash Casino, and Deerfoot Casino (this is the new one, haven't gone yet, but might this weekend.) Edmonton has several casinos that spread poker, Baccarat Casino, Palace Casino (in the mall), Yellowhead casino, and Casino Edmonton. Red Deer has a casino, but I'm not sure if they spread poker.

Calgary rooms mostly spread 4-8, 10-20, and 15-30. Most rooms in Edmonton spread 3-6 and 10-20.
