SB checks, Hero ?

I know the pre-flop raise is small but decided to put a small one in for once.

i would check and hope that they might catch up.

betting now would probably scare them off unless they have Ax.

My thoughts exactly.
I checked and a J came up on the turn.

I then bet and they folded.

I'll just have to put it down as one of those cases where your big hand doesn't get paid off.

if you ask me it purely depends on how you think they view you and how you view them. I would bet here because I cb nearly all the time and I think check then a turn c/raise after a raise preflop just screams a monster at this level. I'd bet, hope one of them as a worse ace and is going to pay me off, because otherwise I don't think there are many hands you going to get money off anyways.
