How about a micro discussion on 6 max aggression factors?

This is sort of a stats post, but not exactly a "WHAT AM I DOING WORNG?!?!" thread. I want to start a discussion.

Ok, so, for all you 6-maxers, what do you consider the ideal aggression factors, and, most importantly, why? I ask because I am much different (or at least I think so).

Mine, from a decent sample size (20k+ at 1/2 6 max):

Flop- 2.76
Turn- 3.03
River- 2.21

This averages out to 2.70. I feel this is a little high, but whatever, it works for me.

Now, why do I like this setup? CHECK RAISING. There is nothing better than sucking an extra bet out of LAGs in 1/2 6 max. It doesn't work as often on the river, so I only repeat (yes, this works) against opponents that are more or less ridiculous (aggression 3.0+). A lot of opponents will think they were supposed to fold to the check-raise and then bet again. But, again, this doesn't always work.

I feel that check-raising is why my turn aggression factor is so high, and I like it that way. It gives a lot of information, also.

When I check raise:

Flop- 25% (usually to pump draws)
Turn- 63% (very strong hands)
River- 12% (repeat, or I improved on the river)

Now, I'm assuming a lot of you don't check-raise as much as I do. I think we should discuss why. I feel like a lot of micro players are afraid to make these types of moves. They are taught that they need to get their money in the pot when they have the best hand--every time.

Let's talk about it! Post hands where you think it was a good idea with a read!

Re: How about a micro discussion on 6 max aggression factors?

My post-sabattical stats:

Flop: 3.70
Turn: 2.56
River: 2.07
Total: 2.95

Pre-sabattical:

Flop: 4.01
Turn: 2.94
River: 1.62
Total: 2.97

During my sabattical when I was thinking about poker, albeit not very much, I decided that I was too much of a LAG post-flop. I thought about times when a more passive line would have either won more money or lost less, which contributes a lot to winrate. I think my current stats are more ideal now.

Do you mind if I ask what your BB/100 is?

It seems like your flop aggression is too high (even for the standards on this forum).

mine are like 2.3, 2.1, 2.0.

i c/r 1.7% of the time. like 55% flop, 30% turn, 15% river i believe

A lot of the posters on this forum are weak/tight.

Well can you explain why your flop is that much higher than your turn? Or, of course, why you think it's higher.

because when i defend my big blind (over 50% of the time vs. a steal), i check raise the flop very often. that and in general at these lag tables, you can check raise from the blinds very often in unraised pots.

I like C-Ring as well, but if you C-R a lot then you need to throw some bluff C-Rs as well usually against above average players, defending against a steal etc.

My AF stats 2.5/2.9/1.8 (I dont fold a lot on the river)
and C/R 2.5%: 62/34/4.

But stats are not important anyway

Just to add: Against LAGs there is also another alternative than check - raise: bet - 3-bet

*takes notes*

This helped me realize that I definitely don't defend my blinds enough with check-raises. If I were to do it on the turn, it would be "too late" and he would call me on the river anyways. He could still fold to a turn bet.

Hey, this will make me some $$. Thanks.
